Re: laptop?

you can always use vnc on your laptop to control the raspberry pi via it

but that is not the same as using the keyboard and screen directly with the pi

Re: Android Custom ROMs

yes, now i'm stuck with miui on my galaxy s for a few months now and i'm very satisfied with it

it would be great to have android on the pi itself, as well, i hope it would happen sooner or later. cm7 or miui would be the best, maybe cm7 has more chance to happen

Re: Ordering a Raspberry Pi without a creditcard?

<t>actually you dont need a credit card, a simple debit card is enough as well (you don't need any credit, if you have enough money on your card)<br/> <br/> only thing you need to look if it is visa, mastercard, amex or some other internationally accepted card<br/> <br/> or you should ask for a "web...

<t>is it possible to write a script that saves the system time into a file when the board is shutting down, then uses this as new time when turned on again?<br/> <br/> and when booted up it might look for network time server, if connected to the internet<br/> <br/> that way it wouldn't always boot u...

Re: Case Design Challenge: Media Centre

<t>you should redesign an existing device with appropiate size, like a set-top-box or satellite receiver, i'd say. they look consistent with tv's, they have a stylish front panel, have space for a small lcd (like a hd44780) in the front (to replace the original one), usually some playback buttons, t...

Re: Linux swap partition

<t>what you think about using microdrives for swapping?<br/> <br/> they have not a bad price and afaik they are hdd's with a cf adapter, so they can take a lot of writing on them, and with a decent usb cf card reader they should have normal speed<br/> <br/> i'm thinking about something like this:<br...

Re: Charging with Palm Touchstone

<t>Hey,<br/> <br/> I was thinking about the possibility to use a Palm Touchstone inductive coil to get the juice to the Pi. Do you know maybe if it has enough power to do so? As I could not get any solid data from HP/Palm support regarding output values, I do not know if would be enough or not to fe...
