Re: I want to make my own boot thing

well
from the bare-metal topic here i misunderstood your need forgive me
you should go for pilfs, as already stated, and build only libs for your python-foo
the foundation should host what you want as python love is claimed ...

Re: booting to a single graphical program

i don't know about something "light" that support opengl
you can try to make a light pilfs with only what you need but it continue to be a kernel ...
to code a self-bootable-gl look not what you want ...

Re: I want to make my own boot thing

if you love python why not make a bare-metal-python-vm ?
even without high programming skill you should be able to trace all functions it use then put everything together to have only the vm

Re: How fast a Raspberry Pi can boot?

16 second is very slow
sadly i lost my µsd adapter so i didn't used my PI2 yet
this horrible timing should make the foundation to dev something more usable than a kernel

Re: ARM assembly encodings?

you put "debugging is for sissies"
and you want gdb-bare-metal
you are not consistent
less hard is to begin by a bare-metal-assembler ;

try to remove the cable of the charger
if your pi2 can reboot without electricity you surelly will resell it 10G$ ;)

Re: Trying Bare Metal on Raspberry Pi 2

hi
with this interesting thread you gave me the need to buy a PI2 ;)
before it come can one of you give the qemu command line to emulate a PI2 so i will be able to learn and code asm for it ...
i'll try to make real bare metal PI2 ;)
thanks
