Re: Availability of Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 2GB

Won't help for SA, but... https://chicagodist.com/collections/ras ... odel-b-2gb On the other hand, they are--again--sold out of Pi4B8. Fortunately, I got an order in when I got notice they had them and have on in transit.

Re: HDMI and display problems

Make sure you use the microHDMI connector closest to the power connector. On the TV, be sure you've selected the correct input before turning the Pi on. Make sure the HDMI cable is firmly seated at both ends. If none of that works, get another HDMI cable to test with. And if you can test with some o...

Re: Pi Zero dead after 1 reboot

- Used disk manager in Windows to create an extra partition with the rest of the unallocated space Part of the first boot process in RPiOS is to expand the root partition to use the rest of the space. I have no idea what doing what you did will do the that process. I would suggest installing and bo...

Re: The Raspberry Pi 4 is missing one small connector

Already been suggested and acknowledged that it would be beneficial. Doesn't mean it's going to happen any time in the foreseeable future. And--FYI--no need for 3.3v connector. Connecting a fan to the 3.3v rail is Not Recommended. 5v, ground, and a GPIO PWM pin could be useful, though. Problem is.....

Re: RPi Zero W as a SATA HDD for old DVR CCTV

If you use the *one* USB port on the Pi0W for the HDD, how are you planning to connect the Pi0W to your DVR? May I suggest that some form B-series Pi might be more to the point. Or are you planning to use the SD card in the Pi0W as the back drive?

Also don't embed spaces in parameters unless you enclose them in quotes.

Not to mention that if the error message you quoted is correct, then the command line in your code tags *isn't* what you actually entered.

I did see the lightning bolt icon at the upper right of the desktop. I did not know what it meant until now.
Well... Just in case you haven't read about (because you probably haven't seen it), there is also a red thermometer icon when Pi approaches thermal limits.

Re: Availability of Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 2GB

My "collection" wont be complete without the RPi4B-1G... :( I have one and, no, you can't have it. What I don't have (yet...it has been shipped) is a Pi4B8. On the serious side, what I don't have (and probably never will) is a 256MB Model B v2.0. Not going to go into the various versions with diffe...

Re: rPi 3 V1.2 from MCM Model B complete - no boot later

I was testing Kali on the Raspberry Pi 2015 I had with the Sense HAT and it worked but then wanted to keep the newer Pi 3+ for the Sense Hat in the official case. I swapped the two and now the Pi 3 model B V1.2 won't boot with the same power and monitor that worked before the swap. I read the troub...

Re: Sata Connections

What you want are USB 3 hubs and USB to SATA adapters. Keep in mind, though, that it's all going to funnel through the same 4Gb/s PCIe lane that the Pi4B uses to connect it's USB ports.

Re: I JUST GOT A RASPBERRY PI

The Pi4B uses a *micro*HDMI connector. What's more, the RPT markets and inexpensive microHDI to HDMI cable. They come in black and white and 1m or 2m length. From your post, one must presume that you have a spare keyboard, mouse and monitor or TV. One thing you definitely need is a microSD card. It ...

Wow! Look at those goal posts go! Yes technology has a strange tendency to improve (to an extent of which one is sometimes unaware) and one must take account of that. Several of us have been pointing out that what you want to do *isn't* cheap to develop or build. You want tightly coupled 64 cores, ...

You mentioned "only" 100 cores... The current to AMD Threadripper has 64 hyperthreading cores. That gets you 128 concurrent threads. Is that close enough? (If not, just wait for one or two more generations.) Alright then a 1000 lol. Or Shall we let the Americans do it then? Wow! Look at those goal ...

What about PCIe? The BCM2711 (the SoC used for the Pi4B) has ONE, count 'em, ONE PCIe v2 lane. It runs at 4Gb/s. Note that that is *slower* that the 5Gb/s of USB 3.0.
