sorry to necro an old thread, but i am experiencing the same (with same driver, spca1528).
motion works ok with another usb cam.

приобрёл 2 rpi, B+.
один из них не грузится при подключённом hdmi.
если вытащить hdmi, грузится нормально.
второй работает с той же sd-картой.
куда копать?
