Re: Proofread my Coding?

Can I ask you what each part of the code does? I'm having trouble figuring out how the computer knows if the pairing is correct or incorrect. At the top of the script, we define a simple Python dictionary. PIN_PAIRS = { 18:17, 23:22, } A dictionary has a KEY and a VALUE (separated by a colon) I am ...

Re: Anyone using virtual-GPIO?

Could you not just make a "dummy" module? file = RPiDummy.py HIGH = 1 LOW = 0 BOARD = 2 BCM = 3 IN = 4 OUT = 5 PUD_UP = 6 PUD_DOWN = 7 channels = {} def setmode(mode): pass def setup(channel, type, initial=LOW, pull_up_down=PUD_DOWN): channels[channel] = initial def output(channel, value): channels[...

Re: Proofread my Coding?

Maybe something like this import time import random import RPi.GPIO as GPIO # BUTTON PIN : LED PIN PIN_PAIRS = { 18:17, 23:22, } GPIO.setmode(GPIO.BCM) output_states = {} for button_pin, led_pin in PIN_PAIRS.iteritems(): GPIO.setup(button_pin, GPIO.IN) GPIO.setup(led_pin, GPIO.OUT) output_states[led...

Re: Python from PHP Button

What I would do is run a small server in the python code. Look at bottle.py (http://bottlepy.org/docs/dev/index.html) pip install bottle GPIO-API.py: from bottle import route, run import RPi.GPIO as GPIO PIN = 12 GPIO.setmode(G.BCM) GPIO.setwarnings(False) GPIO.setup(PIN, GPIO.OUT) @route('/on') def...

Re: recalboxOS - emulation platform for RPi and RPi2

If you let them disconnect, and then push button again in different order, does controller #1 become #2?

So, does it remember what controller it was, or is controller #1 always the first to connect?

Re: recalboxOS - emulation platform for RPi and RPi2

Did you remember to make the file executable after replacing? Once replaced, reboot. Then try. It works! I used WinSCP to set the properties to "0755". Thank you very much mattrix. It now works with my Gasia Controllers. Same as you, they both indicate #1. The only other problem is that the OEM PS3...

Re: WIP: "Out of the box" retro add-on for OpenELEC

+1 this would be insanely useful, although I don't know about the joystick in kodi part as it's not supported in its current state Well, The add-on already needs to include it's own libs for all the emulator dependencies etc. So, including extra libs for xbox controllers etc, would not be hard. WIP: "Out of the box" retro add-on for OpenELEC

Hi All, I have started working on an add-on that is basically Rom Collection Browser + all the emulator cores + easy controller config. I will be using the really good config code / cores from recalboxOS and then a modified Rom Collection Browser that is all setup to interact with that. So, install ...

Ok, how do I get a Dualshock 3 to work with this?! I've just tried a new one and it won't detect. I've attached it via usb the red lights flash as they do when it's charging. But that's as far as it goes. I've tried 2 different Bluetooth dongles and no joy recalbox won't detect it whether it's conn...

Re: recalboxOS - emulation platform for RPi and RPi2

I think your manual needs updating a bit. For starters, it doesn't say you can have most roms in a ZIP archive (which saves quite a bit of space). Also, some of your folder names in /share seem to be named wrong eg: gameboyadvance as the folder name for GBA roms. Emulation Station won't pick up my r...

Re: recalboxOS - emulation platform for RPi and RPi2

I would also like to know about any plans to add a DOS emulator? rpi86 or FastDosBox?

Would love to have a jam of Whacky Wheels with some friends :)

Or, would it be easy enough for me to add the FastDosBox binary and add a new entry to emulation station?

Re: Release: RPI2 Minecraft Server Image (Mattrix)

The server console is on the main terminal as it's started on boot.

You may be able to use

apt-get install screen
screen -r

command to switch to the main TTY in your SSH session

In my next version, I will look into this.
May also add in a better server manager:

Re: recalboxOS - emulation platform for RPi and RPi2

I see a latest version has just been released which add CIFS support which answers my question about network roms storage :) Now, my problem is that my network isn't available before emulationstation / KODI boots up. I will add a small startup script to ping my NAS, and wait until response. Maybe a ...

Re: R-Pi MMORPG Community Project (UNDERWAY/NEEDS MORE HELP)

If they stick with C++ and 3D on this project, I may be interested in starting another project in 2D, Python and Pygame. I'm happy to code, but I'm no good with GFX / SFX. I picture a nice simple basic game that can be extended over time Think old Pokemon style. Currency in the game would be "Raspbe...

Re: R-Pi MMORPG Community Project (UNDERWAY/NEEDS MORE HELP)

Did you consider maybe non-3D? 2D Games are pretty popular at the moment (thanks to smartphones). 2D would be faster to create, and not require so many resources. Probably less network overhead as well. Maybe consider switching the project to 2D, Python & Pygame. Pygame can easily handle a lot of mo...

Re: recalboxOS - emulation platform for RPi and RPi2

Also, I found on one of my projects that the /boot partion does not need to be 'physically' the first partion. You can have p1 sector after p2 and still boots fine. In fdisk you just set the partion number to 1 and have the start sector after the ext4. My customer needed a large FAT32 partion so her...
