Re: Pi-Portable & or Monitor.

Hi, Well, I'm going to write the same question in different ways. On one issue. 1. You wrote: «I did this with a variable voltage switching regulator, it'll take any DC input from 11v to 40v and output 9v which I use to power the LCD, the LCD board then powers everything else.» How it works? The co...

Re: Pi-Portable & or Monitor.

Hi, I have some questions: 1. On power supply it is written that 12V - 36V. Whether it means, what if to connect the standarty power unit 20V on a payment of nothing will burn down? 2. There the undervoltage block is added. Where the red wire is connected? 3. I wanted in the easy, modern laptop to ...

Re: Pi-Portable & or Monitor.

I've just received my M.NT68676.2 LCD controller + inverter etc. to resurrect an old LTN170WX-L05 panel. I forgot about the power supply (oops), so tried it with a 12VDC 1.5A plug pack I had on hand - it worked! The plug pack didn't feel hot afterwards, but I'm not sure it's sufficient for 24/7 usa...

Re: HOWTO: Move the filesystem to a USB stick/Drive

I used the 1st method before, but now I've realized I could actually use another drive sticked into my Rpi. I tried changing the dev/sda2 part in my cmdline.txt to PARTUUID (I tried both, the longer one (sudo gdisk) and the shorter one (sudo blkid)). I also changed the line from fstab. It wouldn't ...

I don't understand. It worked perfectly, the first time. I have never seen this before on a free website. Nice work, team! Keep it up. Quality is free; anything less, costs you in the end. Hmm? Hi Rascus,
For your information, I have now reverted to kernel 4.4.11-v7+ #888 and your build of Kodi 17 is again working fine when displaying h265 video files. :-)

Hi Rascas, I'm using your version of Kodi 17. Unfortunately it is now crashing if I try to play a h265 file, I'm assuming other Pi updates since March have broken it, any chance you will be updating it? Many thanks. Kevin. That is strange. It does sound like your issue is power related. Is it powered through a hub? Here is a list of working/problem hubs http://elinux.org/RPi_Powered_USB_Hubs Also read here: http://elinux.org/RPi_USB_Wi-Fi_Adapters#Working_USB_Wi-Fi_Adapters as it details that you may need a hub and details a list of ...

I'm getting similar problems on a Pi2 with wireless dongles (several makes). From the desktop if I click on the network icon, it shows my network, but won't reliably connect to it, at random it will connect and just as randomly it'll disconnect it's showing 3 bars of strength, so that's not a proble...

Re: Bluetooth not working after update - information needed!

OK, we think we have found the problem - the card we have examined which had this problem was missing the Pi-specific Bluetooth support package that was released in the previous Jessie release. If your Bluetooth controller is not found, please try "sudo apt-get install pi-bluetooth" and see if that...

It's to try to reduce any sudden voltage drops when something is plugged into the USB hub which suddenly starts taking power.

@timjstone A fresh installation should work out of the box. What is your power supply rated at, and do you have anything else drawing power? As Douglas6 says, try without the screen first. @kevin42 I'm happy you have a working system now. We're trying to get hold of a card with a failed update so w...

Ok, looks like I have 2 problems. The first is that the dongle didn't seem to like being used through a 30cm USB cable, it used to be fine (that's life), this is so I can bring the WiFi dongle out side the case, the second is that one of the Official WiFi dongles has died, in fact after a bit of hot...
