From the USB port on a B+ it is a 2.5" takes 250mA, my power supply is 3A, 5.1V on the board when all powered up; but in both cases I'm using the exact same hardware, so no, it's not power related.

EXT4 USB Disk journal corruption

Hi, I've run into a problem with USB disk corruption. My setup is a Pi B+ running Raspbian, initial install was Raspbian 2014-06-20, I last did an update, probably 3 weeks ago. My setup is only /boot on the SD card, with everything else on a small USB hard disk, this has been working great since my ...

Re: Pi-Portable & or Monitor.

Sorry to bring this back, but I know very little about electronics and I aim to buy the same model of LCD controller you have mentioned and hook it up to the rPi. I aim to build a general purpose portable computer with this and a LVDS 16" panel, which also has GPIO. I have a couple of questions: Th...

Hi rst, Thanks very much for your blogs, I found them by accident while googling. I've used your example code around about part 8 to implement a version of Life. I had been using a library from http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/projects/raspberrypi/tutorials/image-processing/intro.html , but this was relative...

...The main problem was getting a driver for the LCD panel, I found this one M.NT68676.2A which I was able to buy and have programmed for my LCD by a company on Ebay and cost about £25 including a button board and custom cable for the LCD... That is very interesting. I haven't heard of anyone else ...

Pi-Portable & or Monitor.

PiPortable.jpg PiGuts.jpg Hi Pi People, :-) I had some bits and pieces lying around, which I've kept over the years because they 'could be useful' mainly a nice LCD screen from a dead laptop, but also a miniature hard drive from a portable music player and of course a Pi. So I decided to build a Pi...

Hi neobusy,
I don't believe a standard update will do it, you need to see this thread. http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... 17#p467617 This is what I've done to an old standard Raspbian install and it's working fine. :-)

Hi ssvb & hglm. Thanks for all your hard work :-) I've installed your driver on a standard install of Raspbian and can definitely see a speed improvement, especially to dragging windows around. I was one of the people who was testing Simons Accelerated X driver, so I've reproduced some of the scenar...

Hi,
It appears that once you have run Mathmatica from the command line as above, a short cut will appear in the app launcher under the 'Education' menu item. I now have one and I didn't put it there. ;-)

Re: Accelerated X driver testing

The catch in this scenario maybe was that switching from true to false was done without a reboot. Just killed the Xorg and then restarted. I did not even unload/reload the kernel module. Maybe that made the difference? Simon? Hi Diereinegier, Yes I always do a complete stop, I even quit out of gdb ...

Hi Diereinegier,
Do you really mean setting "SelfManagedOffscreen" to "true" here? When I set this to "false" it removes all my screen corruptions, when I set it "true" they all come back.

PS. Hi Simon, Netsurf V2.9 Feb 27th 2012. For comparison, I have tried the same images in the Image viewer built into Raspbian, that doesn't have a problem, but is very slow scrolling around the image. I have also loaded a large image into Midori, that also does not have a problem, is marginally faster ...
