Re: editing /etc/network/interfaces for gigabit ethernet ada

You can actually almost double the raw performance using a Gigabit Ethernet USB adapter versus the onboard one according to http://www.mikronauts.com/raspberry-pi/ ... -review/6/

I boot into console.
A running x is not needed, the problem resides elsewhere.
Oh right, sorry, I was thinking of x11vnc which actually requires an existing desktop session to connect to.

Well, the saner alternative is "get a second-hand late model CRT TV for ten quid" but that was not really in the question. :)

Si esa tele tiene al menos una toma de antena, necesitarás un aparato externo para convertir la señal RCA a RF aparte del consabido cable TRRS con la toma de tierra en el segundo anillo.

df is a command line utility that will show disk filesystems and their sizes, together with the -h parameter it will make it all the more readable.
Just open a terminal window, type df -h and press Enter, then copy whatever the command prints and paste it here.

Yeah, there's a lot going on in there, like: - The previously mentioned 4RSE - "Made in Potton, Bedfordshire" - "C3PO" & "R2D2" - "VERY" BroadCom - The "It's OK to throw in the bin" symbol - "THX-1138" - (no, C64 acutally exists on the real board) - Dunno what MDH1, JM55 and AE99 might be, but they ...

The B+ (or any other Pi for the matter) works on 5V. Feed it anything bigger and it will wave you goodbye.

At least it's already heaps faster than those horrible first Atoms. If we ever get HW accelerated graphics the Linux desktop experience will be very good.

Depending on your display you might even get a "Signal lost" type of message on it when the Pi shuts down completely.

VNC is not suited to stream video. It's already clunky over a LAN for desktop usage, so imagine what it might do to video over internet.

Now ScriptPNG leaves the image at 4,79KB instead of the 5,55KB of the GIF version. Dunno if I'm using PNGCrush correctly but it leaves it at 4,99KB which is less than t...

It is generally the case, but not in this one. I used ScriptPNG and ScriptGIF to reduce its size and the gif file was the first one to drop below 6KB with the same color settings, so that's what I used.
