jack noise

I got a mini speaker from the pihut today and noticed a helicopter noise when the jack program from preferences was turned on is there a way to fix it? It's the same noise I heard when hydrogen was turned on so I figure if I fix the problem on the jack end hydrogen will work and that would be cool. ...

Thank you I will update upgrade and see what happens. Is there a way to setup my pi with all my programs and languages and upd...

Re: ruby 2.0.0 installation

You people make this forum the best. I'm going to try the epiphany instructions from peter. Now once I download it I get the suggested text editor, then how do I tell the editor that I want to use ruby? I figure that I can't just click on ruby.exe. I definitely want an editor that highlights syntax ...

Re: ruby 2.0.0 installation

Thanks, this might help. I don't know how to "do" a bash file yet but I'm sure I'll figure it out in a couple of hours (YouTube). I'm really excited to get started on this book and see how ruby compares to python.

I tried to apt-get install tuxguitar and I got the message "e: unable to fetch some archives, mabey run apt-get update or try with --fix- missing?" Has anyone got this working yet? I know the project was abandoned but I don't see why I wouldn't be able to use it. Any ideas?

They have power supplys on amazon 5v 2a if you read the reviews some raspberry pi owners specifically mention their experience. The person said sudo apt-get update. You can't apt-get stuff stuff from the internet without the internet. Well you probably could but when you think you're online but not it seems like something's wrong.

Re: Hdmi not displaying

You can only put one operating system at a time. It's either your SD or power supply. Did you unzip the file and copy and paste to the SD card? Is your SD card facing the right direction upsidedown? Its important to fully clear the card of any content, including superfluous old partitions. A quick f...
