Re: Sub $150 7" Touch Screen Pi

<r>Here's a cool idea. Its a Raspberry Pi case witch includes a 7" touchscreen, USB hub, wifi dongle and battery pack, all for ~$150 including the Pi.<br/> <br/> The parts:<br/> <br/> Screen: $24<br/> <br/> <URL url="http://www.ebay.com/itm/7-TFT-.....256ecc72d8">http://www.ebay.com/itm/7-TFT-.....2...

<t>This looks like a really good plan! If you do build it please make a video and/or pictures so others can follow in your footsteps.<br/> <br/> P.S what emulators were you thinking of? I"ve been looking at NES,SNES, Gameboy Advance and Dos. Mainly because they all worked on my 2nd gen iPod touch, w...

Re: Drupal 7 on Raspberry Pi

Awesome to know, but I figured as much. I managed to get Drupal 7 running off a 17 year old box with a 460MHz processor and 256MB of pre-DDR RAM. And it ran pretty dam well!

It just shows that Drupal is awesome (duh) and so is the Raspberry Pi (also duh) lol

<t>I was thinking, because the Pi is only a very light thing, could i attach 4 little motors (http://www.ultimatetoys.com.au.....13509.html) and get it to drive around my desk.<br/> <br/> I figure id need an acrylic(plastic) chassis, 2 rear motors, 1 motor facing down to use as steering, and 4 wheel...

<t>Awesome!!! This is another great example of a small business(very small) that started because of the Pi. And to you sir, you are awesome, I tip my hat to you <br/> <br/> But down to the case, they both look really cool, but I think the first 1 in white, with maybe a Raspberry Pi sticker on top(fo...

Re: Powering the Pi

Ok, not worth trying really. Plus I just had a google around, the dock connector isn"t powered. So there"s no point.

Oh well

Re: Concept for a case

Macro, your case is great! I had this idea of some how locking my iPod Touch on the top to use as a VNC screen/mouse/keyboard. That should only add about 1cm of thickness, taking the grand total to 27mm thick.

Do you guys think it would work well? Cause I do

Re: Powering the Pi

<t>I"m nearly certain this would work but not sure, would it be possible, using a USB to micro USB adapter, power the Pi with an iPhone/iPad/HTC etc..?<br/> <br/> I would think so. And if it does work, my iPhone gets about 6 hours of solid use in one day with one charge, so sharing that with a Pi th...

Re: smart web tv with rasberry pi anyone?

Ill probably do this aswell, with XBMC, VLC, Chrome/Firefox and a nice Window Manager(like KDE) i could see the Pi being a great dumb-to-smart tv converter

Re: Portable Pi, Using iPod Touch

Thanks, i know VNC is slow, but at THAT close range with a half decent wifi dongle, it should be tolerable. Or you could jailbreak(like i have) and use the iDevice to SSH into the Pi, just a thought.

Re: Portable Pi, Using iPod Touch

<t>Ok so my idea for turning the Raspberry Pi into a portable device, is to use a wifi dongle and an old iPod Touch as a VNC client.<br/> <br/> So id plug in the WiFi dongle and create a network for the iPod Touch to connect to on the Pi, then its a matter of simply adding some batteries and possibl...
