iptables and docker container tagging by UID
Hi folks. I've been asking this everywhere and not getting any responses, and so this is my last hope. I want to use iptables to match based on UID for running container, and I’m using DSCP tagging for this (and I have configured the container to run as the user). But I’m afraid I don’t know ip tabl...

Re: No sound on Pi3b+
Can you confirm proper audio in ubuntu mate 18? Because I only get crackly, delayed, unreliable mono on my 2B on ubuntu 18 and over in their forums no one seems to care even though multiple people have reported this.

Re: Driver installation impossible? RTL8812AU
I have updated the script so hopefully it is now working OK. MrEngman Hi again. In reference to my last post, I was able to use your install-wifi script for the 8812au driver after an rpi-update. I can't connect to a wifi network, but the driver does seem to be there and working so thank you! :) Hi...

Re: raspbian-stable-main package repository very dated
Related to to above comments is it OK just to add the Debian repository to the end of the current sources.list file rather than create a sources.list.d directory. Also when I add the debian repository I get a message when I try and update that the repository is un-signed. I can proceed by pressing ...

Re: Raspberry Pi3 Black screen + cursor (stuck)
Ok, so the problem seems to be that if you create an "autostart" file for the pi user, LXDE does not load a default one. (this is my guess). I got the idea from here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=207036 So, the fix that works for me is to create a proper autostart fil...

Re: Raspberry Pi3 Black screen + cursor (stuck)
I'm having this same problem, and what I discovered is having an "autostart" file at all in /home/pi/.config/lxsession/LXDE-pi/ - even if the file is empty causes this black screen problem. So remove your "autostart" file and you should be good. But I hope someone will come in an...

Hey Mr Engman I'm trying to use your script to install 8812au driver on a latest raspbian buster (pi 2B) but I get this error. I hope you have time to help. thanks :) Your current kernel revision = 4.19.50-v7+ Your current kernel build = #896 Your Pi revision number is a01041 You have a Pi 2 or 3 Ch...

Re: Default recommended pi 2 overclock settings
By and large, the newer Pis don't have any "recommended" overclock settings. Except for the ones defined in raspi-config. do_overclock() { if ! is_pione && ! is_pitwo; then whiptail --msgbox "This Pi cannot be overclocked." 20 60 2 return 1 fi if [ "$INTERACTIVE&quo...

Default recommended pi 2 overclock settings
Hi folks It used to be at one time that recommended overclocks were in the default config.txt, but that seems like it might not be the case. Most references now point to using rpi-config, but there's also no documentation that I can find to say what settings that sets currently. The installation tha...

Re: Screen blank but weird presentation
Both are pi2's v1.1. I'm going to test with a new raspbian image today for another data point, but I tried a virgin libreelec image yesterday, and it worked with mine and didn't with theirs.

Screen blank but weird presentation
Hi folks
I have a pi 2 and SD that just will not activate my monitor or TV.
If I put the SD into a different pi 2, it works fine.
If i put a different SD and OS install into the "problem" pi it works too.
I don't understand what the commonality is here, can anyone fill me in?
thanks

Re: Under-voltage warnings
So i recently had a host of problems related to the fact that the power supply on my headless Pi had degraded. As soon as I hooked up a LCD to it, and saw the lightning bolt, I understood what was happening. Is there some way that I can occasionally check a register that would tell me, for example, ...

Re: dante-server: invalid ELF header in libc.so
I just set it up using the config here http://www.privacypi.org/how-about-a-socks-proxy/ (modified to suit my network), to do exactly the same as you (I presume). Working so far, but too early to comment on stability :) For some reason a config similar to what you point to didn't work properly for ...

Re: Creating a proxy interface for openvpn?
Ok, since nobody responded I guess nobody has this problem, but just in case for the future I'll detail my solve. The problem, as I understand it, is dante can accept an interface argument as "external" but then doesn't actually bind to it, at least, it doesn't behave like I would expect. ...

Re: Creating a proxy interface for openvpn?
Ok, so after a few missteps, I am now able to present a SOCKS interface to my clients, using dante. However, dante does not do what I expect, when I specify the external interface and/or IP. It breaks when trying to use tun0, because tun0 is not the box default route. (Which should not be needed..) ...

Re: dante-server: invalid ELF header in libc.so
Thanks for the tip, that was the last piece I need to get OpenVPN and Dante working. I guess this is a hail mary being an old post, but sounds like you are doing exactly what I want to do, which is present SOCKS5 to the local network and send that out the openvpn tunnel (which is not the default ro...
