I guess it was a faulty component :) Luckily I got a few extras, and another one seems to work :)
Thank you so much for all the advice :)

Re: [solved] IR Receiver not working

Which sensor are you using? Does piscope show any activity? Hey Joan The part is supposed to be a TSOP 38238 and that's what it seems to say on it. [but this came from China and I wouldn't necessarily know the difference] I'm not receiving anything on my first second go around with piscope, which a...

Re: [solved] IR Receiver not working

I'm having this exact problem and there's really no good information available - mostly old and outdated or incomplete (for use with openelec for example, where some things are already done for you). I get the lircd error, and I've made the modules edit (and removed it), and modified config.txt , an...

Rpi2 Lirc GPIO IR LED

Hi I'm trying to hook up a TSOP38238 to my GPIO pin 18 on an RPI 2. When I test it, I receive no input at all. Here's my config: Added to config.txt dtoverlay=lirc-rpi,gpio_in_pin=18 In /etc/modules: snd-bcm2835 lirc_dev lirc_rpi gpio_in_pin=18 Dmesg: [ 5.337809] lirc_rpi: auto-detected active high ...

Re: Mythtv Working (Packages Provided)

There's a thread somewhere here on this forum with some benchmarks, I'm on my mobile so I can't look it up for you. Both of the better performing sds were uhs-1 rated but I think Samsung sds were rated pretty highly in that thread.

Re: xrdp copy&paste

Yes, autocutsel seems to do what you want.
But, I haven't fully got it to automatically launch or work all the time so thats as much as I can point you in the right direction.

Re: Mythtv Working (Packages Provided)

Just a follow up note for anyone experiencing blocking pauses like I was - As it turns out it was my SD card(s). Even though I tested them as part of my troubleshooting, it wasn't until I used crystal disk mark I found out that both of my raspbian installs were on class 10 sd card with .00x MB/s ran...

Re: KVM Swich - need some recommendations please

For most development and testing these days, I use RDP (except when I need OpenGL ES or video playback) as it allows me to easily cut/paste text between systems. Two of the tools I install immediately on a fresh OS install are xrdp and remmina :) I've had some limited and intermittent success getti...

Re: Mythtv Working (Packages Provided)

Actually after a little experimentation this doesn't seem to be limited to xbmc playback. I seem to get odd pauses in the desktop environment, playback from other devices from mythtv on the pi, etcetera. I don't see the CPU being pinned, I can only assume this is SD card access or usb contention? I'...

Re: Mythtv Working (Packages Provided)

I've finally got this setup, but my performance in XBMC is really bad. Whether live tv, or a recorded program, there's a lot of fits and starts with playback. I'm using the mpg codec, and it reports as applied using the vcgencmd command. If I had to guess this is some sort of buffer or cache issue, ...
