Re: Directory layout Raspi2

Hi ghans,

I'm the author of that library. I have not planned to package the library in an installer.
I made it lightweight as you can make a copy and include the sources in each software you will do. In this case you can personalize different aspects of the GUI coerently with the specific software.

Re: Socket to me?

Do not take care about it. Just unzip in a path you like and run "widgets_overview_app.py". Then, if you would like to make your own app, just start working on the template "simple_app.py".

Hi feverish,

Can you show us the measurement program? Maybe, if it does not require a lot of work, I can modify it for you.

Re: GUI library, a remote multiplatform interface for python

Hi paddyg, No, it has not been done before. You can consider to use Flask to do same things but in that case you have to code HTML and javascript to build your GUI. This library instead offers the ability to code only python code. Xserver is not needed, you can run your program accessing the interfa...

Re: Python variables to web page in real time

I think this can be what you are searching for: https://github.com/dddomodossola/gui
two examples contained "simple_app.py" and "widgets_overview_app.py" shows it's usage.

Re: Python GUI?

Does this gui lib have a slider, or will I have to improvise? Also, the values could be changing while the page is up, meaning a user would need to refresh to get updates. Now I added new widgets, and a sliderWidget just for you. ;-) The refresh is not a problem, You do not need to refresh manually...

Re: Python GUI?

As a side question, what did you think of my code? Was it wrong coding, wrong libs, or just plain wrong? I think that your code is complicated by the intensive use of "os.system" calls. You do not need this. The right way is to write functions, and not single executable modules. Also you have to re...

Re: Python GUI?

Scotty101 is right. The simplest way to try it is to run the simple_app.py. It shows a button and a onclick event.

Re: Python GUI?

Hi KV4LQ,

Have you seen this GUI? https://github.com/dddomodossola/gui

It allows to build web interfaces in an easy way, without writing HTML nor Javascript. Only Python code, and your graphic interface can be accessed locally and remotly.

Re: Cross Platform GUI

Hi tajiknomi, I had your same problem in the past, so I developed a new gui library to solve the problem. It is multiplatform (pure python library) and it can be accessed remotly (you can run your program on the raspy or on an android device, and see the UI on your personal computer). Here is the li...
