Re: GAMES LIST: Games That Work On The Pi

Yeah, I have a $100 Adafruit voucher somewhere (from an Instructables competition, as I recall. They were meant to send me an Intel Edison starter kit with the Grove seeed starter kit. Got lost in the post, so they just gave me this instead. Rather have had the Edison though :( ). Probably it will ...

Re: Which emulator setup you use/prefer?

1st choice: Recalbox is a first choice for those who want easy setup with plug and play.

2nd choice: RetroPie for those who want individual emulators and a more hands on approach.

But in all honesty I'm all for getting Raspbian repository open source games more so as of late.

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 and HTML5

Epiphany is installed by default try that first. If you don't like it Try Kweb3 : http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=333125#p333125 Kweb is superb all in one solution for Media and web browsing. It's better than Epiphany for the time being and is very light and super fast on Pi2 for s...

Thanks - I've added it to the list :D Awesome :o :geek: I can't believe it. I'll be getting my Pi2B soon which I'll update my experience with some games that were hardly playable. But if things go according to plan. I'll be selling my PiB+ so I'll no longer be able to test games for older...

I knew it! Well actually I don't  but that's awesome man! Now if we can only find out the correct OpenGL flavour to install & use... that will definitely make this game (and a whole lot of other games) fly  Read my Expert setup the SDL download fixes the issue. This post is finished. Please read all directions in first post (here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=704564#p704564) if you wish to run FreedroidRPG without X Windows. This game runs amazingly well if you're willing to do the expert setup 25-35fps on a Turbo clock Raspberry Pi in...

Could this be a reason why PRboom and FreedroidRPG will not play with picture when executed from terminal? All I get in sound and no picture. I can navagate the menu of the above games to quit the applications but no picture. Any suggestions on how to get this fixed will these improved SDL library p...

So after I compile this, I can just start any OpenGL app and it should work with OpenGL support with better frame rate? Also to what is the command to install "Make" ? Never mind the Make thing but you guys really should add that to the directions it was very clear in the beginning. Update I did the...

Re: FreeDroidRPG a diablo-esque RPG. Install & Setup: Pi & P

glshim won't interfere with the installation. Compile it, set the environment variable (see tutorial) and start the game. Don't want to use glshim anymore? Don't set the environment variable and everything is back to normal, simple as that. I don't have a Pi left for desktop use right now to try it...

Re: FreeDroidRPG a diablo-esque RPG. Install & Setup: Pi & P

don't really know how/what makes it able to run without X. PRboom does the same thing since the Release of the Raspberry Pi 2 Image. From what I know it has to do with a update to firmware since the Raspberry Pi 2 release. To get the game to run better. You may have to turn off performance features...

Yeah I tested it on Pi 2. What was the frame rate btw; you can turn frame-rate on on display settings and it will show how many frame per second. I would like to add it to my first post to help other gamers out interested in the game 8-) Did you have lighting and shadow effects turned on or off? I'...

Spelunky (Freeware) on Raspberry pi? Anyone capable?

First off, I'm not a programmer but I've done some research on this. This is the Freeware Spelunky: http://www.spelunkyworld.com/original.html The Original Spelunky seems to be modifyable and it would be interesting to see this get ported to a Raspberry Pi. Features: 1. The Game is Freeware and can ...

Sometimes it happens if I mess around with the window size or start the player full screen: Alt+F and Alt+H stops responding altogether, so I can't toggle fullscreen or the player controls. Otherwise the integration is virtually perfect. Have you updated OMXPlayer as mentioned here: http://www.rasp...

Some positive feedback. As of your new update here is my experience on weird bugs going away. Before 1.6.3 I had issues with OMXPlayerGUI crashing randomly while playing videos on youtube using Youtube-dl (the script version that's faster was installed). Video would play for a few minutes and sudden...

You may need to wait on Matt Kimball (blockh34d) for an answer on this situation. But overall this app should do mostly everything you need. Just use MP3 format for now it works amazingly well.

Yes. This app uses OMXPlayer for everything. Scamp is basically a GUI.

STICKY: Manual updating NOOBS Recovery Partition?

When you install Raspbian using NOOBS it creates a Recovery Partition on the SD Card for NOOBS recovery. Is it possible to replace the files in recovery Partition with a new version of NOOBS from the Download page by deleting the files in Recovery Parition and replacing them with the newest version?...
