Re: Can't boot new B+ (solved)

Yes, I saw that one little (ULTRA-important) line amongst all of the info, but since I was having problems accessing the slot, I incorrectly assumed that using the reader, I could just insert it into one of the USB ports. After all, other input devices work there...such as keyboard and mouse. I agai...

Re: Can't boot new B+

I make no apology for labouring this point. At no point have you said that you are inserting the micro-SD card into the micro-SD slot on the underneath of the RPi. At this point *I* am the one who should be apologizing! I had repeatedly stated that the micro SD card plugs into an adaptor, that in t...

Re: Can't boot new B+

Good news! The pre-formatted and pre-installed NOOBS (full size) SD Card came today! Put that sucker in the reader and plugged it into the Pi. Plugged in the keyboard, mouse, HDMI cable, and lastly, the power supply! Same thing...no boot. Just solid green and red lights. :(

Re: Can't boot new B+

The last time I formatted the MicroSD card, I chose the option to do the "full erase". This time I picked the "overwrite" option. Jeff Yes, the 1st time I formatted I chose full erase and the 2nd time overwrite. It didn't seem to make a difference. I thought I saw on the site or in one of their vid...

Re: Can't boot new B+

The micro-SD card plugs into an adaptor (looks like a larger version of the micro-SD card. THAT plugs into the reader, which in appearance could pass for a USB thumb drive. The whole thing plugs into the USB port on my PC and functions correctly there. Just doesn't seem to work correctly in the Pi. ...

Re: Can't boot new B+

The files are all there, and seem to be the correct size. Yours in bytes, mine in kb
I hope that LandShark doesn't think that I am highjacking his thread since I am having the exact same problem! Wonder how he is doing?

Re: Can't boot new B+

Hi, thanks for your reply. Not sure if it was FAT 32, will check. Here is a list of the folders and files on the card. I also named the card 4Noobs when formatting. (folder)defaults (folder)os bootcode.bin riscos-boot.bin recovery.cmdline recovery.img recovery.elf BUILD-DATA RECOVERY_FILES_DO_NOT_ED...

Re: Can't boot new B+

Last sentence in my post..."Yes, I did read the sticky." But I just read it again. It seems to me that the problem is not at all video related, but boot related. I have formatted and re-installed NOOBS 3 times. As I said...my PC has no problem formatting or reading or writing to the card, so I don't...

Re: Can't boot new B+

I am having the exact same problem. I bought the Pi, the power chord/supply, a 32 gig mini sd card, and an adaptor that the card plugs into all at the same time at a computer store from a knowledgeable salesperson who has a Pi. Including a little translucent case the the board fits into. I have down...
