Re: Need help with dnsmasq config

Based on your post I can understand that you have a nextcloud server running on a Pi witht the IP: 192.168.1.124 that is forwarded to the internet using your router (192.168.1.254). YOu can access the nextcloud without ssl errors because the domain name matches in the url. But you cannot access the ...

Re: Messed up with libstdc++.so.6

If you have the stock SD Image you can mount that and copy the libstdc++.so.6 to your current corrupted library.

Always make backups if you need to mess up witht the system shared libraries.

Re: NGINX with ModSecurity Package?

It took about an hour to run the first stage of compiling the module on my RPi3B+. I tmux-ed the session and compiled the modsecurity then nginx. I do not know how long it took since I go to sleep. The only problems is the configure witht the nginx options I just mimicked the $ nginx -V on the apt-...

Re: NGINX with ModSecurity Package?

Since you can't install it with sudo apt update; sudo apt install libnginx-mod-security then your only choice is to build from source. There's a recipe at https://www.nginx.com/blog/compiling-and-installing-modsecurity-for-open-source-nginx/ which should work on Raspbian. The version you've got rig...

[SOLVED]Compiling NGINX with ModSecurity Package

I am trying to setup nginx with modsecurity I have used apache2 before but it eats all of my Pi's memory now I am trying to compile the version that is installed in the Pi using the debian-backports for stretch but I always get: $ sudo nginx -t nginx: [emerg] module "/usr/share/nginx/modules/ngx_htt...

mumble in a Pi as a client? you need to install mumble client package using apt-get. I also am searching for a way to make the PI as a client without the GUI since I am in a headless Pi. I read somewhere that there is a Go implementation of mumble client... You may be thinking of talkiepi headless ...

Re: PIVPN problems

I do not see any error in the debug log. You can check if the openvpn server is running:
$

Code: Select all

 sudo systemctl status openvpn.service
$ sudo systemctl start openvpn.service

check for opened ports
$ nmap -Pn <your Pi's IP>

You may want to use step down voltage regulator such as MP1584 which has theoretically up to 3A current. I just converted a non powered hub to a powered hub by using a laptop charger and this step down voltage converter.

If you want to use a VPN you just need to install openvpn and do: $ sudo openvpn --config youropenvpnconfig.ovpn

If you want to hotspot and vpn I have not tried it yet, you can create a hotspot then connect the vpn theoretically this would make the hotspot vpned

Re: No internet on pi wifi hotspot/repeater

Can you ping your LAN with the hotspot? Does the client device connected to your hotspot has DHCP IP address issued? ex, 192.168.1.4 gateway is 192.168.1.1 I used isc-dhcp-server than dnsmasq but this is irrelevant. You may need to iptables nat the hotspot, also are you not using a firewall (eg. UFW...

Re: installation of zoneminder

I used zoneminder but since I have limited storage I removed it and used motion instead. ZOneminder has Web User interface and it saves events (motion detections) as jpeg files and you can compile/export it to mp4. You need fast disk like HDD or SSD since I experienced low performance on my SD card....

it may be because network manager keeps it running? I do not have GUI I have the lite version so it is only CLI. You can disable network manager or add a blacklist to network manager to disable eth0. use crontab to schedule a bash script to disable or bring down eth0. in my case it is ens0. sudo ifc...

The access.log is now access.log.1 (logrotated) but the acc...
