doh! that should read exFAT (the one often used for SD cards) not FAT32. FAT32 is needed for the 4GB+ that is obviously need for NOOBS. OK thank it worked, sort o. For a few reading it gets the ifo but it skips and misses lots of readings. Looking in cat output after a few reading a jumble of mess comes through, then data then mess etc. Also not tried this back on the PiZero and A+ yet but hopefully will once I've sorted this jumble...

Is this change documented anywhere and is it just the Pi3 that needs this as that buggers up compatibility if it is hardware and not Raspian. As I'm writing it on the Pi3 as it's easier and plan to move it to A+ and Zero's and some might be run for testing on B2's before going to the smaller devices...

Been having the exact same problems for a while and have been going round and round. Gpsmon was always fine, but cgps etc never worked.

Doubt you would be buying/getting B's (original style with less GPIO pins) at this time.
