Re: how to make PI out of PI?

Using a similar method I have a C program that calculates pi to a million decimal places

It took 2 days 7 hours. If there is any interest I'll post up the code.
- no just paste up the result

Re: "Beginners" put off...

A true 'quick-start guide' would be written along the lines of bish-bash-bosh-off you go... with things explained simply, minimally, thoroughly and in order without jargon. 1 - 2 - 3 steps with info-graphics could help. It would take the user from having a pile of bits to sitting infront of the desk...

Everything is easy when you know how - but often the simplest things can make you feel like this:

Thanks again nr. - I adapted yout makefile and I am now getting errors and warnings, so things are being acknowledged and found - which is progress!

I have identified my problem as beeing two of the component files sharing the same header file, but it only being seen by one of them...

I think they would certainly get a flood of pledges if they themselves pldged to a Pi version rather than teasing and hinting at it.

rurwin said: It is a little too dedicated to RiscOS for my liking. I think the worlds too Linux-centric - why should they get all the books? Re: The raspberry pi foundation has no employees?

Whats 'mindshare' ? I'm guessing it's a PR term? I'm also guessing that the income for 2012/13 will be substantially greater than 2011/12 and will give the foundation a spring board for delivering on its more fundamental educational goals. It will be interesting to see what unfolds - it looks like c...

If its in an (almost) sealed box made from a thermaly insulating material then the pi itself could be an ideal ready-made gently heating element.

Hats off to the author for being methodical and thorough and to your son for learning a valuable skill that could serve him well in later life. If I could erase my memory and learn programming again I might start with assembler as then I would be learning about how computers work at the same time. I...

That little driver board you got with it however is fantastic as a ULN2003 breakout - you can connect it directly to the Pi and use it for loads of other things.

Hi - on your blog you said: For this project, yes, a switch probably would be better in order to isolate the movement of the letterbox from other movements in my hallway. However, I probably won’t be including one just yet, as the current system is mainly a test of the hardware that I plan to put in...

Thanks Arjun - this could be what I am looking for for my unfinigshed balancing robot. I need some kind of task scheduler that can check the bots posture every 10us but also alow it to perform tasks that might take longer than 10us. I wil investigate further.
