Re: Copy files to samba share

I had this server running for over a year without any problem (even for 4 GB+ file sizes) for bot Mac and Windows. But yesterday it stopped working for Windows but still works with Mac. If it was working and you haven't changed anything on the Samba sever, but it doesn't work from windows now, does...

exFat ? That could still be a problem: https://miqu.me/blog/2015/01/14/tip-exfat-hdd-with-raspberry-pi/ https://miqu.me/blog/2015/04/14/exfat-with-raspberry-pi-continued/ I followed similar instructions when setting up the server :) I had this server running for over a year without any problem (eve...

No the file is 3.7 GB, but file size normally shouldn't be a problem since the drive is formatted in exFAT?

Copy files to samba share

Hello everyone! So a couple of years ago I made a samba-server-raspberry pi. This is mainly used as a local network file-sharing server. But yesterday I ran into a pretty weird problem. I wanted to move a videofile from my windows computer to the server and after around 5 minutes it gave an error: "...

Re: Raspbian image not booting

I think I might have solved the problem, upon further inspection it is not 'sda' but 'sdc'. Mounting the SD-card partition was possible using the following command: sudo mount /dev/sdc2 /mnt It did give an error though, stating the partition is write-protected. Nevertheless, I was able to recover my...

I have tried your command and it does not want to work for me: fsck from util-linux 2.25.2 e2fsck 1.42.12 (29-Aug-2014) fsck.ext2: No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/sda1 Possibly non-existent device? fsck from util-linux 2.25.2 e2fsck 1.42.12 (29-Aug-2014) fsck.ext2: No such file o...

Re: Raspbian image not booting

That is what I did, but the new card gave the exact same error after cloning the image to it.
Then I tried flashing a brand new image to the new card (instead of the cloned image) and it worked fine.
Both old and new card are Kingston class 10, 32 gig.

Re: Raspbian image not booting

Should it not have been solved then by burning a copy of the image to a brand new SD-card? Or am I not understanding what you mean?

Raspbian image not booting

Hello, So i've been running a Samba-server with MINIDLNA on my pi for the best part of a year (I guess). But a week or two ago it ran into some problems where it does not want to boot anymore. So I've plugged the pi into a monitor and got the following screen (pictures might not be sharp, but should...

Raspberry pi DNS

Hello, So recently I tried to manually set my DNS-servers to openDNS. I have successfully did this by removing "resolvconf" and "raspberrypi-net-mods" and then setting the addresses in the dhcp config-file. Every time I start my pi up, the DNS-servers are correct (meaning they are the openDNS-server...

Multimedia-center

Hello So I was wondering if it would be possible to create some sort of multimedia-center using OSMC + qbittorrent + filebot + Flexget + MiniDLNA + Samba + external harddrive. As of right now I have this setup but instead of OSMC, it runs on Jessie. Since the Raspberry Pi is very close to my tv, I t...

So COM has to be connected to the 3V3 if you use the 3V3 as a power supply? I always thought that COM was the negative rail? For example when using a Multimeter? As stated, COM short for common. On a multimeter, the COM connection is either the one you use together with one of the others (mine has ...

"COM" is short for "Common" -- a single connection for all the parts of the chip. While it is often the 0V rail, that is not necessarily ...

2803a-part.png If you connect COM to the most positive supply rail and drive anything which isn't inductive, the diode is always going to be reverse-biased so won't do anything. If the load is inductive, such as a relay or motor, when current through it drops, its voltage can go higher than the pos...

Pin 10 (COM) connects the internal flyback diode - only really necessary for inductive loads like coils - relays or motors.
I'm sorry for my ignorance but I don't understand a word of what all this means :?:

If you're buying that illuminated button frrom modmypi, they'll also sell you a suitable darlington array: https://www.modmypi.com/uln2803-darlington-ic @ £1.20 8 outputs - I tend to use the cheaper uln2003A which has 7 outputs and is only 37p ;) http://cpc.farnell.com/stmicroelectronics/uln2003a/d...

Re: SN754410

Reading between the lines, it would seem you want your Pi to control both a buzzer (powered from 9v) and the LED (also powered from 9v), with an input to the Pi from the micro-switch. The info on that ModMyPi page isn't ever-so clear, but I assume that the LED can be driven separately from the swit...

Hello, I am trying to build an alarm-clock with my Pi and my plan is to use the following button as a snooze button: https://www.modmypi.com/60mm-arcade-button-red?filter_name=arcade%20button The LED that is inside of the button can be powered with max 12V due to the internal resistor. I am planning...

Re: Automating trouble

I got it to work by using "distance.result" as a variable in my function. This makes the variable a global variable so I can use it outside of the function itself. But there still is the problem that it blocks after a short amount of time and my whole script freezes... EDIT: It mostly freezes after ...

Re: Automating trouble

Changing it to 'result' solved the print issue partially. If I use the print function in the definition, it prints. But outside of the definition, I get a Traceback error. Is there a different way to get the 'result'-value out of the definition then simply using "print(result)"?

Automating trouble

Ok, so I'm running into some trouble with my project. I have a chassis on wheels and I can control the movement of the robot with my PS3-controller. Re: PS3 controller

In the meantime, I found the solution myself.
For some reason, you had to put the 'if'-command for the buttons first and the 'if'-command for the joysticks second. I have no clue as to why it has to be in this order, but it solved my problem.
