I'm happy for the project, but I don't like to see the rules being changed 'on the fly' to extend the project by 30 days.

Re: Mystery Raspberry Pi? Can you guess?

It looks more like an A+ to me. It is pretty clear it has the memory chip on the underside of the board though and no radio chip (plus it has RUN header at the uSD-slot end), so it's not Pi3, which means it MUST be Pi2B :) That was how I arrived at my conclusion. Doh! I read that as Model B. ...

Re: Mystery Raspberry Pi? Can you guess?

It's a Pi2 model B with camera and what looks like a WiFi antenna. No microphone. It looks more like an A+ to me. The micro SD slot, long GPIO connector and four mounting holes means it isn't an A or B. It isn't clear in the pictures, but it looks like a short-form board, not the long one with four...

Re: Can multiple "Hats' be added to a Raspberry Pi?

The other problem is one of terminology. By definition a Hat only fits the 40-pin Pis, so your question about Pi1 model B makes it irrelevant. Now if you are talking about add-ons, that's a different story. In order to call a board a HAT you have to meet a certain set of criteria (they are pretty pr...

Re: So looks like there's a new raspbian

It would be so much better if they just added a four lines to wpa_supplicant.conf by default: network={ key_mgmt=NONE priority=-999 } a simple change that makes it connect to any unsecured wifi, and then we could configure wifi completely headless. Isn't that a bit of a security hazard?

I like a poll if it is actually serving a useful purpose or generating some useful information.

Also it it's well designed and thought through. Yours doesn't really seem (to me) to fit that mould IMHO, but I answered it anyway

Short selling? I think PiSupply may have been doing that too in the hopes of acquiring some stock. Sometimes you roll the dice and get 6 :D , sometimes you get 1.

Seriously. Try a Pi3 it's a much improved web-browsing experience. You'll probably end up getting a laptop anyway, but for those who can't afford one it's a credible alternative.

I've had success with a 15.4" LCD from an old Dell laptop. Grab the serial number of the LCD. Google "driver board for XYZ12345677" and found one on Ali Express for $30. Aside from that approach, you're pretty-much out of luck.

It was a long shot anyway. Would have been good in order to check power supply voltage and MicroUSB cable quality.
You could do it with additional hardware on a 5V pin surely? (Voltage divider + ADC) but it's not a quick and easy solution.

I think RS, Farnell and ThePiHut own more than me. I stopped counting at about 15 and must surely have >30 by now. Actually I'm scared to count them and not sure if I could track them all down anyway.

This is clearly not the case as far as the Pi Zero is concerned. They ARE being sold through partners and not directly and they are selling out as fast as they can be made.

Hi, I'm trying to backup the system using dd but it keeps ending up with filling up the disk. What am I doing wrong? I thought it could have something to do with the mounted drives but unmounting them before starting the dd made no difference. The system takes about 4 GB and the sd card is a 32 GB ...
