Re: Ethernet Fails on Rev 2 Pi

OK rebooted, ifup returns
ifup: interface eth0 already configured
If I run apt-get update it gets stuck
Ctrl C to kill it and try ifup again, it still returns
ifup: interface eth0 already configured
so it thinks that it is running, but I cannot ping anything.

What causes this?

Ethernet Fails on my Rev 2 Pi

Hi, I have a problem with a rev 2 Pi (my rev1 seems fine in this respect). I have created a new SD card with latest Raspian (tried both via NOOB and standard burn). I run the initial setup for locale, time, etc then reboot. The Pi is connected via a cable into my router, cable tested with other mach...

Re: How to test a Pi

It is a genuine RS recomended power supply, just checked and 4.96 volts, so not a power issue it seems.

Are there any utilities for running memory tests etc?

Re: How to test a Pi

I am using the latest image, downloaded a couple of days ago and installed via NOOBS.

Linux pi-f 3.6.11+ #474 PREEMPT Thu Jun 13 17:14:42 BST 2013 armv6l GNU/Linux

I am assuming that this image should work on any Pi, is that correct?

How to test a Pi

I have 4 Pi's, 3 revision 1 and 1 revision 2. The old rev 1's work fine but I am havving trouble with the rev 2 crashing.

Are there any tests that I can run to test for a hardware problem with the Pi?

Is there any reason why an SD card from a rev 1 should not work in a rev 2 or vice versa?

Re: Pi Lock-up

OK, I have done a bit more investigation. I thought it may be a mysql problem so check for updates - sudo apt-get update started but locked up after a few seconds. I tried this a few times but it always locked up. I then put the SD card into an old Pi and tried again, that worked fine. I then put th...

Pi Lock-up

Hi, I now have 4 Pi's, 3 early ones and one new one. The old ones work fine, but the new one locks up for no apparent reason. I am running the latest version of Raspian and access all of them in terminal via ssh or Nautilus file explorer from my laptop or desktop (which both run Debian). When I am u...

MySQL sysdate timezone

I am developing something on my Pi running latest Raspbian using Python and MySQL and I have a problem with local time. I am in the UK so currently on BST. My system time shows in BST (type 'date' in terminal) MySQL shows time in GMT (select now() or select sysdate() ) I find this confusing as I hav...

MySQL on USB Drive?

I have installed MySQL on my Pi, works fine. The database however is likely to grow rather large. Is it possible to install MySQL so that the data, or the whole MySQL installation, is on an external USB drive?

Re: Status LED's

Thanks for the reply.

I would have expected a green OK indicator to be on unless something was wrong, but now that I know I can live with that.

Cheers

Status LED's

Is there any information on the exact meaning of the status LED's?
The one that interests me most is the green OK, mine flickers occasionally but is mostly off.

Thanks

Re: Using Pi to control 3 SSR + DS18B20 temperature sensor(s

The DS18B20 runs on a 1-wire network, I use many of them myself. To use it you will need an adapter, there are many around, USB, Serial and now to connect directly to the GPIO pins on the Pi. I have just bought one (RPI2) from Sheepwalk Electronics, http://www.sheepwalkelectronics.co.uk/products-ada...
