Why not try the new wheezy distro :
http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... =50&t=8071

(you shouldn't need to enable the audio as you have above).

Re: Kernel module requests

Hi,
are there any instructions for cross compiling in Windows - the elinux page above has TODO against it ;)

PS that help guide also suggests that it can take around 6 hours to compile on a Pi - is this still the case?

Re: Working Pi last night. Now power and OK LEDs only

I,ve never tried the raspbmc images, but can you try the latest Debian image, not from the downloads page, but highlighted in this thread :
http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... =63&t=5057

It has recent firmware that handles high speed SD cards much better.

I would expect the opposite, especially with no powered hub. Are you sure you cannot ping before you enter startx ? what does ifconfig show?

Re: GPIO PI Beginners question

Yes - good call ;-)
Change the 10k resistor to a 100ohm resistor, and it definiately needs to be fitted.
The 'pot' is a variable resistor, or potentiometer - its resistance can be altered between 0ohms and its maximum, 10,000 ohms in this case.

Try this for the photo tranny, although you'll proably need to omit the pull-down, ie connect the emitter to 0volts (GND) :

Re: SD Card performance in R-Pi onboard slot

I've accepted lb's pull request, and rebuilt the firmware in github, and updated Hexxeh's repo. An rpi-update should now give you improved sdcard speed. init_emmc_clock now defaults to 50Mhz, so config.txt entry is not required. Please update and report back on success or failures. How does this fi...

Re: GPIO PI Beginners question

No, the left side of the switch doesnt need to be connected to 0v, it can be left floating.
My post above shows how to connect to phototransistor - the Vout connects to the gpio i/p.
