Re: Aldi UK's sdhc cards work

Don't you need to rpi-update in order to (cleanly) get the updated kernel that has the SD card fixes?

Re: USB WIreless Issues

You didn't say which image you are using, but I would suggest looking through this thread :
http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... =26&t=6256

The new Wheezy image now appears to be working with suitable drivers, so I,d suggest starting afresh.

Knowing which image you are using and/or the results of

Code: Select all

uname -a
may help diagnose the problem.

Re: OpenELEC and XBMC video configuration

There is another way. If you go to skin properties you can adjust its percentage. Reducing this by -6% brought this to just under my tv's screen. Gets remembered after reboot too.

Re: XBMC AirPlay - Audio only not working

I found that also, but there is a workaround. Somewhere in the setting there is a place to adjust the skin properties. From there you can reduce the screen percentage. This gets remembered after a reboot.

Re: XBMC AirPlay - Audio only not working

Your not doing anything wrong - the code is broken.
It'll be fixed soon apparently.
PS this is not a raspberry pi issue, but rather the (3rd party) software developers.
Appart from that , it's a pretty impressive app, eh?

First time I've used raspbmc. Still need to get my vista laptop connected and streaming. Not sure how to do that yet, this evening after coming in from the pub I noticed that I had an extra option on my iPhone to stream to raspbmc! However, there is a problem - no audio. I can stop and play, etc, bu...

I,m not sure teamviewer is compatable with the pi (or the mac for that matter). I use puTTY on my xp laptop, but I,m not sure there is a mac version - someone will pip in and tell you. You don't say which distro you are 'burning' ? If its 20120419 Debian Squeeze, then you need to enable ssh. Persona...

I also forgot to mention that I am running the new debian wheezy distro from the 11th june. T. Just seen this. No wonder the driver isn't working. I'm getting hold of a copy and will take a look at getting the driver working on it. MrEngman And indeed, if people with the right hardware could let me...

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

Hi, I,m not sure how you got the kernel versions above, but if I use /opt/vc/bin/vcgencmd version I get version 319515 (released) Do we need a newer driver, as your 20120611 one above doesn't appear to work ? I have only run your 20120611 script once, so I know there isn't any duplicate entries. Te...

Yes it is as simple as that....with the 19042012 Debian image. The problem is using later versions of Debian. and as I've said before - I am very grateful to mr Engman - I know he is up against it.

The current driver is working OK with the latest update from this morning. Driver tar file: 8192cu-20120611.tar.gz Is working with kernel versions: Lin...

Re: SD Card performance in R-Pi onboard slot

One of the 2 SD cards I mentioned above was also problematic - a DANE-ELEC ULTIMATE PRO class 6 8GB. It would not work with the virgin wheezy distro, loads of mmc -110 errors and it would not get to the login prompt, therefore I could not rpi-update it. So I used another wrking card to go through th...

It has a very good search facility ;)

Type in the make/model of your nano wifi dongle and see what it comes up with. Many are now working with a bit of work.

Re: Keyboard doesn't work

Did you ever plug the Apple A1 keyboard into the pi ? If so you may of (temporarily) blown the pi's fuse. Give it some time and it may recover if it has.
Not a bad idea to get your meter up and running -you can check the voltage across tp1 & tp2 and also the resistance across the fuse.

Great! So is there an easy way to find out if my pi, ie the wheezy distro and what rpi-update gives me, supports my edimax8188cus wifi dongle (or not!) ;)
