Re: LED display driver

Hi Gordon, the easiest way is to find out if anyone else has done the same. For now, I would say that you need to provide more information on your chosen hardware before anyone can help, ie which controller does the display use. This will determine if drivers are already available. Most displays dri...

Here is the code I am testing with - problems uploading photo cos of file sizes - but it's damned simple attaching vcc on relay board with +5V Gnd goes to mutual shared ground and input goes to pin 17 on PI relay switches when I initiate pin 17 and switches off when I do the cleanup. Sorry I didn't realise you were using LCDproc until afterwards. Any particular reason why you couldn't use your own code - there are plenty of examples on the 'net, and on these forums, eg https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=29080 Alternatively there is a dedicated LCDproc forum ...

Re: LCD HD44780 in 8 bit mode

I suspect it's more to do with the 'E' toggle timing rather than moving to 8-bit mode. Have you tried experimenting with slowing the pulse down?
Obviously with 8-bit mode there is less 'E' toggling going on, so it could be a red herring...

That I don't know, sorry. However I believe that you don't need Ubuntu in order to use teamviewer - just use the default and recommended Raspbian OS.

This tutorial may help -

Re: Time-Lapse Unit Project

Hi and welcome to the forum. Should be relatively easy to do. For the pi to control/take a picture via USB research the gphoto2 app, available via the repositories. If the specific times you want to take each shot are fixed then you could either write a script to do it, based on the system time, or ...

Re: Click hold all the time on 3.5 LCD

Hi and welcome to the forum.

You need to be more specific with the LCD model you have - there are many versions of '3.5" LCD' out there. Which OS are you using - one from the supplier?
Best to speak to the guys where you got it from. It could be a software issue, or just a faulty unit.

Well the Pi is a UK product and this is a UK forum and I bet that a very high proportion of the forum users are from the UK as well. Not only that, if you don't fill in your ...

Hi elParaguayo,
a belated Happy New Year to you.
Regarding the song title length, which code should I be looking at? Is the display constantly updated, so that scrolling text is feasible?
I'm happy to look a the code (when time allows), if I could have a little pointer :)

I am also confused :) Do you mean a header like this (this is 'male', ie a plug) : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Molex-KK-6471-0-1-2-54mm-PCB-Connector-Housing-Header-Crimp-Pin-Various-/111121574501?var=&hash=item19df5caa65:m:mLnfz5FTe0MBMGKIhiYAspA Or a female, ie socket : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-5...

Hi,
perhaps a diagram of the hardware would help, but have you checked the voltage on the GPIO pin - maybe the internal pull-up's are not man enough for the task in your case.

Hi, it's been a while and I meant to continue with this over Christmas, but a new puppy is taking a lot of my spare time now... So I opted to design a pcb to act as wiring to the display and encoders, and as an alternative to a lazer cut top panel : http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l114/TexyUK/316D...

I swapped out the HC-SR04. I tried 8 different units. I have the same problem with each one. The readings seem to vary slightly, with one unit getting as high as 60 cm. But not even close to the 400 cm readings I should be getting. Any other ideas out there? When you say '8 different units' are the...

Re: Kivy and touchscreen at startup

Use cron with the @reboot option to directly run the python app,

eg

Code: Select all

@reboot /usr/bin/python /home/pi/thermo.py
In this case thermo.py is my kivy driven GUI and is displayed on my touchscreen on boot up.
