Did you check for bent pins in the USB port? I know it may be nothing but I ruined my USB port within seconds of opening the package.... really poor USB port on the RPi A+... at least on mine, and a few others I have read about on the net...

I am now very upset... within 15 seconds of unwrapping my new Raspberry Pi A+ I have a broken Pi! This is NOT good.
