Re: Pi causing broadband suspension (unacceptable use)

Can't see any other signs. That being said you can logon to a sky router with a standard user and password.
Will ask sky if I can change it.
Have scanned PCs with virus and spyware software supplied by work. These are updated daily.
Will continue to monitor.

Re: Pi causing broadband suspension (unacceptable use)

.......... Having checked (and double checked) my router I did have a port 22 forward setup. Which I don't recall doing!!!! Anyway, I have disabled it, well all of them. Ideally I would like to open port 445 to allow me to access media and use as cloud server from outside (I guess that means inbound...

Re: Pi causing broadband suspension (unacceptable use)

Hi All, Thanks all.. As way of an update. I have several windows machines, well 3 but all are work related and have security scans every day etc so don't think it's that. I have been using it for a year or so as a media server (internal and external) with no issues. More recently I set up a security...

Pi causing broadband suspension (unacceptable use)

Hello all, I have recently twice, had my broadband suspended due to a breach of Sky's acceptable use policy. On the phone they basically said I have a virus. Having received the email below (also basically twice) I have traced it to an issue with my Pi. The first time it happened I bricked the pi so...

Re: Connecting Tonec 7" LCD to Pi

Hello, I am about to embark on a similar project, which is why I came to this post. I know this might be a silly question but have you installed all the appropriate software and drivers? I have read several posts on this forum about people having driver issues with Tontec TFTs and touchscreens. Most...

Re: Graphical Video library for RasPi

It appears I am talking to myself. But I'm used to that... Anyway, I have got tinyMediaManager to work and it's great. A little slow as it's fairly resource thirsty for a RasPi. It turns out I needed to update my Java to one that supports awt ( I opted for openjdk7-jre). But GUI is nice, has a movie...

Re: Graphical Video library for RasPi

By way of an update. Even though no one may ever see it... I emailed tinyMediaManager vis their website and asked if anyone had run in on a RaspberryPi. Here is their reply. if you get Java installed on your Raspberry PI, tinyMediaManager "should" work. But you have to do one minor tweak: Because th...

Graphical Video library for RasPi

Hi all.... I have a variety of uses for my Pi including for steaming music and video to iPads etc both in and outside my house, RetroPie gaming, and TV web browsing etc. I recently set it up with omxplayer and a bash script to open omxplayer full screen by double clicking a video file in desktop GUI...

Re: omxplayer (and/or xterm) does not exit

Hi again... It seems I have fixed my issue and it now all works perfectly.. It appears that I did not have enough memory set aside for the GPU. I set it to 32MB a while ago as I used my pi mainly for streaming. I noticed that before the video started in omxplayer a message came up in xterm stating I...

Re: OMXPlayer Black Screen

Hi again. Thanks for the step by step guide. That worked a treat and i was able to use this script as a custom command line from file manager to view movies. However, upon omxplayer command "q" I still don't return to the desktop. I get a black screen. I can log on to pi with either SSH or Remote De...

Re: OMXPlayer Black Screen

Can anyone expand on how to use the script mentioned above. Preferably with some step wise help. I am having the black screen issue but don't know how to use the fix mentioned above? I posted here. http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=89935&p=631186#p631186 And I installed kweb as ...

omxplayer (and/or xterm) does not exit

Hi. I am fairly new to this stuff and although I have made some progress and turned my pi into a good media streamer both in the house and when I am out and about I have hit a bit of a wall when trying to watch films direct from the xWindows GUI. I have installed both xterm and omxplayer and set a c...
