Re: Sept 2015 Scratch release

A minor problem, also found when saving picture of scripts... In the 'Save Scripts Window' there are 3 folder option icons. Clicking either 'Compute' or 'pi' (current user) open up the appropriate folder but clicking on 'Desktop' opens up the current user's home folder (i.e. same effect as second op...

Re: Sept 2015 Scratch release

I like the improvements. Thank you.
I've only found one problem so far. When I 'save picture of scripts' the file that's generated shows an error when I try to display it: "GIF file was missing some data (perhaps it was truncated somehow?)".
I suspect this will be a trivial problem to fix.

Re: Automount a NAS drive on Jessie not working

How have you specified your static IP address ? In my case I edited /etc/network/interfaces (using http://www.modmypi.com/blog/tutorial-how-to-give-your-raspberry-pi-a-static-ip-address to remind me what information I needed to include). The automount was successful this way without the need for 's...

Re: Automount a NAS drive on Jessie not working

A clue from another thread... https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=122145 It would appear that in Jessie obtaining an ip address from dhcp occurs fairly late in the sequence of events and when the automount script is run my pi doesn't have an ip address so the automount fails. Whe...

Re: Jessie Q&A

Perhaps peripheral issues to some but... 1. How do I configure a 2 desktop setup that survives a reboot? In the most recent Wheezy distribution this was still possible using openbox > Reconfigure. This option seems to be unsupported in the desktop supplied with the Jessie distribution. 2. How do I v...

I have the same problem which has arisen as above with the change to Jessie (clean install) and would also be grateful if someone could suggest a fix.

Re: Raspbian released on 2015-05-05

In the file manager, if you go to 'places' in the left panel, there should be an eject button next to everything. It would be a good idea to make that more accessible somewhere. Brilliant! Thanks for that. I'd not looked at 'places'. 2 further queries about problems I didn't have until I updated to...

Re: Raspbian released on 2015-05-05

@1 You have to tick the box "Show advanced options" or so in the Desktop menu, then right-click on the desktop and you see "Desktop", choose the option "add desktop"... Thanks for the hint to @1 which helped me get to the right place, but the sequence is now: right-click on desktop > Desktop Prefer...

From within the new desktop (with Raspian 2015-05-05): 1. How do I now add a second desktop? The menu pathway to do this isn't where it use to be. I can easily add 'Desktop number / Workspace' to the panel but the options with this are to do with its display on the panel not with adding another desk...

Re: The Beta Strikes Back; NuScratch beta release

The actual bug is in the ALSA libraries though, so is there any chance you had recently used ALSA sound for anything? Possibly. I had also been trying ScratchGPIO6 (unmodified so using the original Scratch, i.e. Scratch that comes with the NOOBS download). This would have been closed down before ru...

Re: The Beta Strikes Back; NuScratch beta release

An error reported before but since corrected seems to have returned in nsb15. Right click on a set of script blocks and select 'duplicate'. Drag the duplicate onto another sprite. This generates an error message; it should copy the block into the script editing area for the second sprite. Dragging a...

Re: The Beta Strikes Back; NuScratch beta release

Yes, on re-examination of the dialogue boxes, the font size is the same but the box is bigger vertically. Apologies. The bigger font size generated on the stage by the 'say' and 'think' program blocks is real enough though. Having spotted that earlier probably helped pre-condition my brain for the '...

Paint Editor > Import Getting the cross-hair pointer is easily reproduceable: click the select (move, modify) button and then click on the Import button. Re: The Beta Strikes Back; NuScratch beta release

Beta12 - I've looked only at the paint sprite editor - I imagine it's an important component for younger users. No major breakages to report but some additional points. Those resulting in loss of functionality: Eyedropper: now changes to the correct pointer over the sprite edit window but still does...

Re: The Beta Strikes Back; NuScratch beta release

A bit more playing with the sprite paint editor suggests that it's broken in a few places: On opening the editor the brush size indicator window is bigger than it should be, probably because the message is not centred. Selecting a brush size positions and sizes it correctly. (The first time I did th...

Re: The Beta Strikes Back; NuScratch beta release

Two things spotted in the first few minutes of looking at v11. Does anyone else experience an echo/reverberation on sounds with v11 Beta (and v10, the only other version I've tried)? It's as though the sound is being triggered twice. I don't get this effect on the original Scratch or Sonic Pi. When ...
