Yeah, some people seem to forget you, the admins and moderators are suffering, too. Looking forward to a smoother experience.

Re: Why did the industry fail?

Yep, price.

You can't deliver for $25 or $35 if you want to make money. Because if you want to make money, your suppliers want to make money out of you, too. And as a company you probably want to control everything, do professional marketing, etc.

Re: Raspberry Pi pricing in India

<t>$35 is kind of a tax-less base price in USD. This has to be converted in local currency, VAT has to be added, shipping often does not come for free, etc. There may even be some kind of punitive duty attached (blame India in that case ).<br/> <br/> Is $46,6 the end price for which they are shippin...

Re: cross-compiling/developing for the Debian image

Some things just have to settle in and that's probably not gonna happen until we're sitting in front of the actual RPi iron and get our feet wet. Questions will be more easy to answer if you can actually test what's going to happen.

Such a composite-to-VGA converter costs around 30 Euro incl. VAT over here in Germany. You'd better save some money and get yourself a monitor with digital input

Re: So: what do you all think about the Model A news?

I think it's great news, because it's more hardware for the buck and it makes sure you can run exactly the same software on both models which makes life a lot easier for software developers and users of their software.
