Re: Where to buy the old RaspberryPi models A or B ?

Do you mean 20.48? that is the main price on your link though there is another vendor at 20.84. Yes - typo error The above is sourced by The Pi Hut, so shouldn't be a problem barring normal random errors. Mine wasn't from them - it was from an outfit called berlin photo Which I accepted that someho...

Re: List of software that affects analogue audio out

Well - I've found its a NeoPixel lib that I load (which I know uses PWM timeing info)

I'll just try and not import it if I'm not using NeoPixels

But carry on with other info people :)

Re: Where to buy the old RaspberryPi models A or B ?

Just bought one at that exact price :)

That's £6 cheaper than driving over to CPC in Preston - so call it £7 saved!!!!!

If I could buy Model A+ for £6 less than CPC then I'd end up divorced (but with a LOT of Pi)

List of software that affects analogue audio out

With the PiPiano on the scene, I was playing with adding to ScratchGPIO but as soon as my handler starts up - it kills the anlog sound out of the 3.5 socket. Now, over the years, I've heard of stuff, particualry use of the SOCs use of PWM timing that can affect the sound Would people mind posting st...

I don't think you've thought thru all the chicken-egg issues with turning up at a venue and trying to get onto their WiFi network :)

But if I'm misttaken and its easy peasy - please do a short write up showing us how :)

Re: Adding Static IP to cmdline.txt Issues

Just a bit of history - I've been working for 2.5 years on methods of easily taking a WiFi Pi robot from home and going into a school (or a Jam or exhibition or friends house) and being able to get it working on the WiFi arrangements in that venue :) But, if the Pi isn't mobile, then the direct ethe...

Re: I2C OLED displays with 4pins

nice one - so the module will take 5V

I imagine my Pi will survive connecting to it (I think I read a while ago that the I2C pullups protect pins 3 and 5)

Just need some simple code :)

Maybe I'll have to read the spec sheet :(

Re: Adding Static IP to cmdline.txt Issues

This is for taking a Pi from home and quickly being able to convert it to connect it up to a school laptop via cable. As long as the laptop has SD card reader (or using a portable £shop one that I always have on me) then it can be done from Windows. Giving it a 169.254.xx.yy address means that the P...

Re: How to make Raspberry Pi to act as an Ethernet switch?

Yep - getting the Pi to bridge will put work onto it o top of its own workload. Best thing would be to just try the bridging idea one out - its not going to cost much to suck and see. Alternatively, If space inside the your case is an issue - it might be worthwhile stripping a 5 port switch out of i...

I2C OLED displays with 4pins

4 pin 12c oleds are cheap as chips on ebay - so I got one But I've lost the will to live in trying to work out what software I need to drive it as a lot of google returns is showing how to bit bang or spi the models with spi and i2c or the ones with an extra RST pin. So 1. Do I connect VCC to 5V or ...

Re: Adding Static IP to cmdline.txt Issues

The clobbering is done by the worse than useless ifplugd task. The quick fix is sudo apt-get purge ifplugd.
Silly me - I forgot to do that when I last recreated a new image :)

Thanks for telling me again :)
