Too many Pis ?

Is there any authorised way to donate surplus pis. With new versions many people are likely to replace and have older ones gathering dust. I know I will. Ideally I would like to donate through an approved channel.

Latest Kernel 3.18

Hi, have had a stable arch on pi for some time. Did a routine upgrade today which picked up lated kernel and firmware 3.18 I think with Device Tree ? I copied the new config.txt.pacman, cmdline.txt.pacman into place as recommended. I am now getting various issues with systemd which is hitting perfor...

Edimax 7811UTC slow

Hi, I bought this dongle in the hope of better wifi speeds on the back of some chatter regarding openelec. My experience is that it is slow with openelec, slower than edimax 7811un 150 Mbps. Further, I compiled the module from https://github.com/gnab/rtl8812au and got it running on arch. Speed test ...

Host interupt on qpu (ra38)

I ve been trying to get the host interrupt working on qpu. I noticed in Andrew Holmes latest release of fft on the qpu that he uses a direct execution method by loading the program code and uniforms list addresses via the v3d registers (V3D_SQRUA and V3D_SQRPC). This all works fine and I am inspecti...

Further to the above: I removed camera from pi and was able to replicate problems with network failure. I have another pi model B purchased about the same time both 256M so I tried to replicate on the second pi using same power and dongle. I was not able to although I do get other dmesg swapper: pag...

Re: Using GPIO Clocks

I am puzzled by the general purpose clock dividers. The documentation arm2835 peripherals section 6.3 indicates that the fractional part of the clock divider is a 12 bit value ie bits (11-0) in CM_GP0DIV, but that the specified fractions denominator is 1024 ie 10 bit value. It seems by inspecting th...

MPD pipe enabled ??

Trying to use mpd and its audio output pipe plugin. After uncommenting stuff in the /etc/mod.conf file to enable pipe and then restart get the following messages

output: line 286: No such audio output plugin: pipe

Is this feature enabled at compile time, if not can it be ??

Re: gstreamer 1.0

Turns out this is connected to alsa config. Other posts suggest creating /etc/asound.conf with the following

pcm.mmap0 {
type mmap_emul;
slave {
pcm "hw:0,0";
}
}

pcm.!default {
type plug;
slave {
pcm mmap0;
}
}
which seems to do the trick.

Further and further... here it says this https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DeveloperWiki:usrlib You can confirm the update is complete by looking in your root directory to see that lib is a symlink to usr/lib. $ ls -ld /lib lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7 Jul 11 21:10 lib -> usr/lib this is not the case...

Re: WiFi Problem RT2070

Futher to this. The firmware seems to be in /usr/lib/firmware. There is a note, https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DeveloperWiki:UsrMove about firmware moving from /lib/firmware to /usr/lib/firmware to test I copied rt*.bin to /lib/firmware and it seems to work. So I guess something, perhaps cfg80...

WiFi Problem RT2070

Hi, been running arch on pi for a while with a TP-link Wn321g dongle. Its ID is 148F:2070. Its been fine until very recently. I know it was working on or about 07/08/2012 because I have a working SD image that I can restore. With latest updates it fails. dmesg reports: phy0 -> rt2x00lib_request_firm...
