Re: Linux kernel is now 4.1

I am using an up to date arch system. Th only mailbox.h I have is
/opt/vc/src/hello_pi/hello_fft/mailbox.h
.

ls -al /dev/vcio
crw------- 1 root root 249, 0 Jan 1 1970 /dev/vcio
I am thinking that because the constant IOCTL_MBOX_PROPERTY is constructed with ioctl identifier of 100

Re: Linux kernel is now 4.1

I may be going mad but...... When using mailbox to communicate to VC, we used to create a character device with major number 100. This changed with the introduction of /dev/vcio which has major number 249. In mailbox.h there is define IOCTL_MBOX_PROPERTY _IOWR(MAJOR_NUM, 0, char *) but it requires t...

Re: Connection via ssh, fresh install

If its version 7 then root login is prohibited by default. see http://lists.mindrot.org/pipermail/open ... 00122.html

If this is the case then you may need to edit sshd_config to
PermitRootLogin yes

Checkout https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... uilding.md and https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ke ... raditional and inspect the PKGBUILD. It is possible for determined novice to succeed, but needs time.

This seems to be linked to BTRFS file system being built in the kernel. raid 6 boot time

I noticed some boot messages in dmesg referring to raid 6 timings. and selecting algorithms. It seems to take about 2 seconds ie from about 1.3 to 3.19. It does 12 tests, each taking about 0.17secs. I dont even think I use raid on my raspberry pi. eg raid6: int32x4 xor() 76 MB/s Can this be avoided ?

Re: Is there a maximum number of uniforms available in glsl?

Hi

see if you can access "OpenGLES 2.0 Programming Guide.pdf" by Aaftab Munshi, Dan Ginsburg, and Dave Shreiner. Its a good resource.

Re: Mesa and DRM driver for VC4

Thanks for that. I think Im going to have a go compliling mesa with vc4 support by taking the pkgbuild from https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUILDs/blob/master/extra/mesa and adding --with-gallium-drivers=vc4 and see how far I get. Sadly I lack any deep understanding of this stuff and just have to...

Mesa and DRM driver for VC4

I was having a go at building the mesa driver being worked on by eric anholt following his instructions http://dri.freedesktop.org/wiki/VC4/ . They are oriented towards raspian but i am naively translating to arch. The building of mesa fails because it cant find libdrm_intel. I think it wants this b...

Re: ASUS USB-AC56 (RTL8812AU/RTL8821AU) Driver compile fails

I have 7811UTC and I had a lot of trouble with drivers and experimented with 2.4G and 5G bands. I finally got one direct from edimax support called which they called there latest rtl8811AU_linux_v4.3.7_11618.20141029 They are clear that they dont officially support it but with some minor patches it ...

On the barriers.h file...I am a bit naive and learning as I go so bear with me. On git hub there is barriers.h file in linux/arch/arm/mach-bcm2709/include/mach/. However when I try to find it on my machine # find / -name mach /usr/share/terminfo/m/mach /usr/lib/modules/3.18.5-2-ARCH/build/arch/arm/m...
