Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

/home/pi/pikrellcam/media/thumbs/motion_2015-07-27_08.42.55_5.th.jpg Only in the past few days did I modify my installation to have a "media/thumbs" directory and for the index page to look at it; previously and by default the original index page looked only at media/stills, is that the case with y...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

@boomlikethat: Have a look at your log file: cat /tmp/pikrellcam.log Below is an example from mine. Note the line that says "convert...." which is what actually creates the smaller thumbnail, using the imagmagick program 'convert'. If you don't have it, that could be the reason. (I've actually crea...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Maybe if I just wait a little longer you might have it all done before I could even start on it. Here is a very simple, no-frills thumbnail index page. You can click on any image to play the associated video. Create "thumbs.php" with the code below, and put it in the directory /home/pi/pikrellcam/w...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Hey billw, Very impressive, thank you for this incredible effort! I've been using RPi Cam Web for a while on 2 RPi B+, and it's developed very well. My experience for updating (as of late) has been difficult, largely to RaspiMJPEG stopping after updating. So I switched one of them to PiKrellCam. One...

Re: another use for RPi Cam Web Interface

Somewhat of a tangent, but I want to thank silvanmelchior and btidey yet again for the ever-improving software. I found another use for it as a collector of test cases for an OpenCV experiment. Demo on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=18&v=KCevhaR75_s I'm pretty impressed with OpenCV and Py...

Re: motion settings and nighttime vision

Hey Robert (or anyone else here): Looking for a little help on activating motion. Basically, the recorded video shot is about 1-3 seconds later than the preview photo. Is there a way I can tighten that up? I would like to see the recording begin at the same time as the preview shot (if that's even ...

Re: another use for RPi Cam Web Interface

@boomlikethat: With the camera in preview or stills mode, it can go to long-exposure "night" mode, at least 1/4 second or more. But when recording video (including if you have the buffer enabled, meaning it is video recording to buffer all the time) it uses a short exposure to maintain 25 fps so th...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

ok, about the buffer you know. You can record 3 sec. before the motion starts. About the IR lightning, you have to bring the camera as close as possible to the window. Just a few mm. The IR Lightning should be outside the window or in a far end corner also very close to the glass. For IR Lightning ...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface - freezing system

Hey Robert, I'm using the latest version (5.1.6), and am still experiencing freezing issues on both of my RPIs (one B, one B+, both using latest stuff, and 128 meg GPU). Here's a snippet of the log, maybe this will help: {2015/05/13 16:59:41} Capturing stopped {2015/05/13 16:59:41} Add /var/www/medi...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Hi Robert, 2 things (FYI, using 5.1.3) 1. I noticed that after image 9999, there is no 5th digit in the preview listings. The physical file is correctly named. 2. I have been noticing a number of freezes over the last few weeks on the 2 RPi's I have deployed, to the point I must reboot the system(s)...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface - reinstall

That's because my original fork has been merged back into the original silvanmelchior one and I removed all the stuff on mine except for a placeholder and comments that it had moved.

Use the wiki as the guide http://elinux.org/RPi-Cam-Web-Interface
Well, duh on me. Thanks. I see it now.

Re: RPi Cam - renaming files

Hi Robert, Thanks for your quick response. It looks to me like the camera capture does not like ":" characters in the filename. These are allowed in a Unix file system but not in Windows so it is possible they are not allowed because of that. This is not a RPi Cam Web issue; this is generating the c...

RPi Cam - renaming files

Hi Robert, I'm having (literally) no success changing the filenames created with RPi Cam. I would like my generated files to look like this (using video for an example): %v_%Y/%M/%D_%h:%m:%s.mp4 I can make it work on the annotation, but not on the actual filename created. I've tried setting it in th...

Hi Robert, Thanks for continuing and improving this RPiCam interface. Since then, I keep getting this message, and I simply don't know what ...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Hi all, I'm trying to change the way RPi Cam names its files. The current format is this: video_####_YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.mp4 In particular, I would like to either move or remove the "video_####_"part of the created name. The reason I want to do this is that, on the occasion I need to restart the RPi, th...
