Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Does this help? https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=115583&start=275#p809900 This gives you solid black background with white letters, not colored, but I don't think there's any background that can make that illegible. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-2lW9rAlujI4/VeXa4IJ618I/A...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

OK, I have a simple question:

Can't locate it in the config-user.php, but how do I change the background color behind the timedate stamp on either the stills or videos? The background colors at the top of the camera are washing out the text.

Thanks,
Tom

Re: PiKrellCam: Light source

My experience shows me that unless I have that light source right up at the camera, lighting is minimally effective. I currently have both RPIs with NoIR's inside the house, against the glass in the corner of my windows. fwiw I actually had a different experience, or rather, I've not seen any requi...

Re: PiKrellCam: thumbs not showing up

@billw, Today, I got the "502 Bad Gateway" when clicking on thumbs. They aren't showing up to the right of the video screen either. I haven't changed any paths or anything else recently (except to bump up the stills resolution today), and I believe I'm up to date with the app. What should I do? The ...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

So, where is the location of the lighting relevant to the camera? light_position.jpg hopefully you can make out the position of the camera and the light from this image ste Yes I can. I'm going to need to try this again. The floodlight I used was in and about the same location, but much higher rela...

Re: PiKrellCam: Light source

I'm still loving this software and have it running perfectly on 2 Raspberry Pi's, one of them with a Noir camera board and an external infra red light source. Could I request (if it doesn't already exist) the ability to change the location/colour of the timestamp? Both of my cameras loose the times...

Re: PiKrellCam: thumbs

@jbeale or @billw:

Is there any way to have the thumbs ordered by date and time? The numbering of the files throws it off, particularly if I start/stop PiKrellCam. Personally, I need the numberings for review, then I get rid of them via NameChanger before I archive them.

Thanks!

Any idea?

I had the same problem. If billw's solution doesn't work, try installing imagemagick. I did it form the Terminal.

I've got a new media.php up with prev/next select buttons and configurable columns and namesize. git pull origin, or as before: wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/billw2/pikrellcam/master/www/media.php To get a short name display, I parse the video/still name to extract the time and this can be...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Nice work, billw. Any chance we can get some navigation arrows to go back and forth to each next/prev video? Or even perhaps back/forth by each day too? Just a thought. Next/prev by video would be good. I can do that and think about by day. Thank you! Also, I have a general question. I think I aske...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

I've reworked the videos/stills web page (www/media.php) so that the files are in a scrollable list with files grouped by day. It's a step towards making a long list of videos easier to manage. Update with: cd ~/pikrellcam git pull origin Or if you want to get the media.php file: wget https://raw.g...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

@billw/jbeale

Just ran the update, getting this on the thumbnail screen:
hours.jpg
hours.jpg (41.82 KiB) Viewed 3107 times
Any ideas? Thanks!

Update:
Seems to correct itself once videos are recorded and thumbs are being created, but upon clearing the videos/thumbnails, the same erroneous view comes up (0 events in 399,539.4 hours)

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Ok, I have a question. If I have multiple regions set up, it seems the recording begins from whatever region is activated first. Re: PiKrellCam: wish list

@billw, You and jbeale have really done amazing things with this, and as I use this, I see a few things that might be helpful. I do get a lot of hits each day, which is fine, and the thumbs help with that (especially the way jbeale recently set it up). But clicking on each filename to see the video/...

Ok, here's another version of a simple thumbnail page. The header shows disk use and total event count, plus link to main page.
