"To reset it, press CTRL+ALT+F2 and login (pi and raspberry) and type sudo raspi-config, select boot to and choose desktop or command line." Thanks for the help. More information. I re-installed the OS. Same result. It boots to Scratch. f I quit Scratch and hit CTRL-C I get the command prompt. I type startx, and the computer closes down anyway.

I've just bought my pi. I chose Raspbian, following the online get started guide. It scrolled through a lot of stuff, and booted straight into the game (can't remember what it is called - the one with the sprite you can dress and move and so on).
