Re: Detect shutdown

GPIO47 is used for the ACT LED on the Pi. At the last stage of shutdown the LED blinks 10 times and then goes out. Indeed I connect Led to GPIO47 on my board and led blinks 10 times but I have set different ACT LED gpio in config.txt file and have other LED connected to gpio set in config and it wo...

Detect shutdown

I have to detect shutdown state on CM. I can't use UART-TXD signal because I have RS-232 driver connected and pullup resitor on this signal. I wanto to use for this purpose GPIO47. After startup I set low state on GPIO47. When I use halt command I noticed that after "reboot: Power down" in console t...

msperl, thank you very much for reply. But for all practical purposes you should be using kernel version 4.0 or later, as only this has one improvement that helps more that that "small" patch here... What improvement has kernel version 4.0 or later? Is this patch will be included in kernel 4.0? I'm ...

Re: RTC and compute module

I made this: 1. Add dtoverlay=i2c-rtc,pcf8563 to config.txt . 2. Disable or remove the fake-hwlock. dpkg --purge fake-hwclock should do it. 3. Edit /lib/udev/hwclock-set and change both occurrences of "--systz" to "--hctosys". 4. Delete /etc/adjtime . 5. Reboot. and after reboot hwclock does not han...

Build util-linux on raspberry is easy. Here is build procedure for hwclock. If you want build all util-linux change "make hwclock" to "make". wget https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/util-linux/v2.26/util-linux-2.26.1.tar.gz tar zxvf util-linux-2.26.1.tar.gz cd util-linux-2.26.1 apt-get install g...

RTC and compute module

I use newest kernel and compute module. On i2c-1 I have connected and tested PCF8563 chip. When I add to /boot/config.txt line: dtoverlay=i2c-rtc-overlay,pcf8563 after reboot hwclock command hangs. I use serial console and I can't stop this process. When I don't use hwclock command and want to reboo...

I'm trying to create Device Tree file for my board with compute module. How exactly can I "rpi-update" when the system is so badly b0rked that it won't boot. I can't exactly take the eMMC memory out and plug it into an ordinary raspi, that's why I want to go back to a version that WILL boot. You can download older images here: http://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspbian/...

Re: Compute Module Boot on Windows

Are you absolutely sure it's /dev/sdc?
I'm 100% sure. When I power off CM /dev/sdc disappears.
Also are you sure you wrote the dd command line correctly and that it finished correctly?
I'm sure. I use Linux on this CM few days.

When I use rpi-boot under Linux I see both partitions.

what is the reason?

Is it device tree problem?

Re: PI2 RTC can't work PCF8563

The reason is hwclock from util-linux.
I download, compile and install latest version of util-linux and hwclock works fine, but after reboot I can't login.
So solution will be new util-linux package.
