Re: CAN controller

Msperl, thank you. It works now. I'm using now 3.12.28 kernel and modules from http://ifinterface.com/page/page3.php?langid=1 If I want to use newest foundation kernels do I have to compile kernel CAN modules and load them during boot or I just have to add "dtoverlay=mcp2515-can0-overlay" to /boot/c...

Re: error -110 whilst initialising MMC card

How exactly can I "rpi-update" when the system is so badly b0rked that it won't boot. I can't exactly take the eMMC memory out and plug it into an ordinary raspi, that's why I want to go back to a version that WILL boot. You can download older images here: http://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspbian/...

Re: CAN controller

I'm trying to communicate two raspberry by CAN bus. I'm using PICAN CAN-Bus board. On both raspberry I don't see /dev/can0 and dmesg show me: [ 11.449421] spi_config_register: device description: bus=0:cs=0:modalias=mcp2515:speed=10000000:gpioirq=25:pd=20:pdu32-0=12000000:pdu32-4=0x2002:force_releas...

Re: Compute Module Boot on Windows

Are you absolutely sure it's /dev/sdc?
I'm 100% sure. When I power off CM /dev/sdc disappears.
Also are you sure you wrote the dd command line correctly and that it finished correctly?
I'm sure. I use Linux on this CM few days.

When I use rpi-boot under Linux I see both partitions.

Re: of_platform_populate failed: -22

Thank you. Now it is clear for me. Is there any official kernel dtbs file for the compute module? I noticed that kernel want to use bcm2708-rpi-cm.dtb but this file does not exist: vcdbg log msg ... 001911.273: Read command line from file 'cmdline.txt' dwc_otg.lpm_enable=0 console=ttyAMA0,115200 con...

Re: of_platform_populate failed: -22

I'm confused about dts file structure. I've created dts file: dtc -I dtb -O dts -o dt-blob.dts /boot/bcm2708-rpi-b-plus.dtb and this file looks different that this one: http://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/images/dt-blob.dts For example there are not "videocore", "pin_config" etc. ...

of_platform_populate failed: -22

During boot I noticed:

Code: Select all

of_platform_populate failed: -22
what is the reason?

Is it device tree problem?

I have fresh system after rpi-update.

Re: PI2 RTC can't work PCF8563

The reason is hwclock from util-linux.
I download, compile and install latest version of util-linux and hwclock works fine, but after reboot I can't login.
So solution will be new util-linux package.

Re: compute module first boot

I download older raspbian - 2014-12-24-wheezy-raspbian and it works. 2015-02-16-raspbian-wheezy image is not suitable for compute module - zero activity. My start with compute module was hard. I designed board for compute module and now I'm trying to run Linux on it. I followed by "FLASHING THE COMPUTE MODULE EMMC" instruction. Everything works fine. I write lastest Raspian. Re: GPIO state after reset and during boot

So table 6-28 is therefore useless.
Do after a power-up from power down all GPIO are configured in alternate mode or they are inputs with pull states are as those documented in the GPIO alternate settings table?

GPIO state after reset and during boot

I use a lot of GPIO on my board with compute module and I have to be sure about GPIO state before and during kernel boot. Some of them control power. I checked BCM2835 Peripherals pdf and I have found that after reset: - all GPIOs are inputs (tables 6-2 to 6-7), - all GPIOs have disabled pull-up/dow...

CM power requirements

I'm a litte confused about CM power requirements. In COMPUTE MODULE HARDWARE DESIGN GUIDE is written that: Supply Minimum Requirement VBAT 2000mW 3V3 250mA In my design like in Raspberry, VBAT voltage is 3,3V. I have also LAN9514 which need 280mA (100Mbit, full duplex). So total current for 3,3V is ...

What about situation when supercaps are not fully charged (can't hold voltage for safedown time) and the power loss?

How do you wake up CM when power is back by pulse on GPIO?
