Re: size of BCM2711

Hmm... How about using a heatsink then? Is it enough to just cool of the top or do i need a special made one to cover the whole chip The chip underneath will be smaller than the metal cap (smaller than even the raised area), so the heatsink only needs to make contact with the raised area of the met...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Thread - general discussion

Should we start a seperate thread on what OSes are currently out and supported by the Raspberry PI 4? There's surprisingly few, so I would love to have a space where those interested can provide help to those distributions. Rasbian 4.2 (Buster): Works, obviously. Fedora: Has stated that it's on the...

Re: Battery Pac as an external USB power source

DougieLawson wrote:You can power the hub from the battery, you can power the pi with a USB-A to microUSB plugged into the hub. The problem with back powering then simply goes away. You've got 5V0 at 2A1 available (until the battery goes flat) so it should be OK.
Nice!
Thanks, That solved a lot of problem :)

(Edited the post to clarify what i meant)
drgeoff wrote:1. 1 amp may not be enough to power everything. Hard drives need quite a bit especially at startup (spinning the platters).

2. I'd be fairly optimistic about the larger pack. Just try it now and see. The risk of damage is minute.
