Using a BT.656 camera

Hi! Is it possible to use a camera which has a BT.656 Output to gather those video material? Has anyone done this before? 3.1.4.1 BT.656 Protocol The Tau 2 core provides the option of configuring the XP bus to output digital data with timing/format in compliance with ITU Recommendation BT.656. Re: Compute Module Test Board

Did you keep the resistance of the USB connection in mind? [John Cleese voice] ahh yes, it would seem that i have indeed missed it... but i checked the traces and they are rated for about 1.6 amps across the trace, i also checked the resistance and the first usb socket has a voltage drop to roughly...

Re: WiFi chips

Im also looking for a wifi module for my project. Right now, Im using a vertical USB port with an Wifi module within. I was using the RN171 before but there are so many limitations and it is to complicated.

Nice would be some kind of USB wifi module to put on our Board, cheap of course...

Re: Which bus to use?

Hi, Thanks for your replies. Im already using I2C for the communication on the board, now I need something to talk to other ICs and PCs. I found the raspicomm which uses the MAX3140 for RS485. By looking around on the net, I found that there are also some drivers available which make it easy to use....

Which bus to use?

Hi, Im thinking about which bus I can use for several devices (about 10). I dont want to use any USB converters. The best thing would be one IC with UART to Bus. The voltage supplied to the chip should be only 3V3 (like the TRS3232 which generates its own voltage). The best thing would be something ...

Thanks.

Would it be possible for you to write the driver based on the examples given on the product page? Maybe the 8 bit parallel MCU(MPU) interface connection? Or which one you'd prefer.

Did you keep the resistance of the USB connection in mind? It looks quite thin, so Im just assuming that you missed that out.

Here the answer from the manufacturer.
SPI connection can not be used alone. It is used for initializing RGB interface only.
PLease kindly change into 8bt MCU interface.

Re: ILI9486L 3.5" Display with fbtft

Well, I found a page of the company selling the displays. There are also a few examples: http://en.lcdlcd.com/product3/2012-08-30/8461.chtml But theyre using SPI + some kind of RGB connection.... Anyway, I just wrote an Email to them to ask if the display works with SPI only, lets see what they will...

Re: ILI9486L 3.5" Display with fbtft

Yes, on the long run I will use a mosfet which has a Rdson of about 20 Ohm to control the backlight using a microcontroller. Im using a lab-power supply for the 3.3V of the whole design. On the final design there will be an dedicated LDO for the display. Right now I have to get this display to work ...

Re: ILI9486L 3.5" Display with fbtft

Yes, it is turned on, I connected it to 3V3 with an 200 Ohm resistor (maybe to much, but it should work for now).

Also, I added
fbtft_device name=tinylcd35 gpios=reset:25,dc:24 speed=32000000
to /etc/modules but there is no difference

Re: Compute Module I2C Ports and Pins

Regarding GPIO & pin assignments: http://elinux.org/RPi_BCM2835_GPIOs I believe the DAC/VDAC is only responsible for the composite video output. But the hardware guide makes quite clear that it has to remain powered, even if you're not using it (optionally at 3V3). On the Model B Raspberry Pi, the ...

Hi, As far as I see the SD Connection on the chip is used by the EMMC. Is there a way to attach another SD-card reader to the Module (apart from using an USB connection)? Hi!

I need 3 USB outputs on my board (Wifi, Bluetooth and USB to Serial converter). Whats the best/easiest/cheapest way to do this?

The compute module uses the FSUSB42UMX Chip. Is it possible to connect them in serial?

ILI9486L 3.5" Display with fbtft

Hi, Im using the KD035FM-7 Display, which is using an ILI9486L Controller. I found the TinyLCD module on the modules webpage where it says that it could use a ILI9486 Clone, so I'd have to use fb_tinylcd? Using the 8 bit SPI?
