Nice job on the new Pi!
Just curious though, how much did the H265 hardware unit roughly eat in cost (Patent royalties etc.)?

SanDisk recently provides industrial micro sd cards, but they are meant for OEMs. 192TB writes though.

Samsungs pro plus series uses MLC if I remember correctly and are designed for heavy writes.

Just upgraded my colocated Pi 2. As long as you stick to the default image as much as possible it seems to be pretty safe

. Cant say much about Bluetooth and Wifi but ethernet is good to go.

Are the ethernet drivers stable though? Mine only acts as a server with ethernet connection...

Guess it makes sense to wait till most issues are ironed out. Don't really have the ability to reflash mine if something goes wrong

Anyone already upgraded to stretch with Jessie Lite? The lack of desktop environment and Pi specific applications and patches should reduce the amount of things that can go wrong significantly.

I believe you may have better luck with a card that is designed for dash cam usage like the SanDisk High Endurance Video Monitoring cards. The warranty is noticeably lower (2 years vs lifetime) but I think there is a much higher chance for the card to survive heavy writes due to its intended usage. ...

What about buying a pile of Pi Zeros, desoldering the SoC and placing it on a new board? Thanks for this. The results basically seem to be in line with what the foundation has given in its press releases i.e. Pi 2 is 6x faster than 1, Pi 3 is 10x faster than 1 and 50% faster than 2.
