Re: Raspberry Pi Model B+ USB WiFi Adapter Tests

What about the same question in regards to OpenELEC, the same skin the same lay out, would it be possible as far as the Favorites menu is concerned?

The WiFi I have given up just connect via cable, I think it is more straight forward.

Cheers and thanks

Re: Raspberry Pi Model B+ USB WiFi Adapter Tests

Thank you Dougie for all your help, the answer to your question where the WiFi was WEP, I am afraid the answer is yes and I tried again to type in the 28 Hex characters in, no chance at all, I actually reinstalled from zero and this time used Raspbmc, the same result it would not accept and I have g...

Re: Raspberry Pi Model B+ USB WiFi Adapter Tests

To be honest with you, I have no Idea, the provider has the WiFi key written at the back of the BOX, 26 Hexadecimal characters.
Thanks for answering me so rapidly, I really appreciate it.

I will find out and come back to you ASAP.

Re: Raspberry Pi Model B+ USB WiFi Adapter Tests

Hi Dougie, Sorry not to be able to come back to you earlier. The problem is not at all how to be able to configure the WiFi, I know that and have done it many times, the issue here is that the RasPi would not accept the WiFi key exceeding 20 Characters. When I tried after 3 attempt the whole thing g...

Re: Raspberry Pi Model B+ USB WiFi Adapter Tests

Thank you Dougie, I don't know at all, I will try it later and let you know. I was told that the WiFi key is stored in a file, can I just edit that file and manually type the code in?

Cheers

Re: Raspberry Pi Model B+ USB WiFi Adapter Tests

Hi Dougie,

Thanks for helping out, sorry I could not write earlier, was very much tied up.

Now I am using PUTTY on my laptop but when I type the command it does not recognise the sudo command itself, I am using
OpenELEC and I am logged in, I don't know what else to do.

Re: Raspberry Pi Model B+ USB WiFi Adapter Tests

Hi everyone, I had an issue (still have) with long hexadecimal WiFi key, more than 20 character is not at all recognized and gives the message "bad or invalid argument" and after 3 tries my RasPi running OpenELEC simply crashed and did not want to work so I had to start again formatting the SD card ...
