Re: Interactive sound instillation using Pi + MakeyMakey

It's easy to hook up the MakeyMakey to the Pi. Here's some vid: http://youtu.be/9IzrWdDeuFM Cool! Royal Mail tried to deliver my MakeyMakey yesterday - no one was home AND there was a £4.42' Customs Charge to pay PLUS another £8 handling fee ... Grrrrrr  Picking it up tomorrow and looking for...

Re: Any Android device could be used as a wired/wireless dis

Overcomplicating matters...

I just have the ConnectBot app installed on my Galaxy Tab & S2

Works fine if I don't care about the Graphic Console - and I don't, because in general the only things I need that aren't console based are web based so I use the Android Browser for that on both devices

Re: Flight sim?

Thanks TheRobster! "somebody with programming skills"... Indeed. I only have Fortran, Visual Basic, VBA, DOS batch, VBScript, HTML, a bit of Java and am now learning Python. IMHO all these are useless and we need somebody versed into advanced game programming, with 3D Glide environments. All I can ...

Re: Flight sim?

I confess to once-upon-a-time being a "small-sized-cheese" in the MS Train Sim community to the point of a) contributing to stuff on the shelves of Game and b) getting a good way down writing my own engine in VB consuming MSTS assets. (sadly the better ORTS rewrite of the same ilk has been done in ...

Re: "made in the UK" feedback.

The op is completely bonkers. Do we not live in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland? I thought we did. Great Britain is the name of an island and Wales is actually a collection of counties on one side of that island since as pointed out elsewhere Wales and for all intents and pu...

Re: Setting up pi with a domain name

i had a quick google and it looks like my isp (virgin media) doesnt block port 80 thats my ISP and one of my raspi's is running a little website quite merrily with nothing but port 80 pass through on the router - virgin media seem to hold their ip definition (to me) quite steady - i've only had to ...

Re: Morse machine problems...

on the subject of good coding style you might want to move your definitions of what dots and dashes are required for each letter into an array of some kind, index that array by letter and then and use the indexed data to drive the leds rather than write an individual function for each letter :| as a...

I thought you could constrain how many bytes dd copies with a parameter value. If you know you're only using the first physical 2gb of the sd card that should work

I've got one too and it is bridging from my Pi hosting my website to my wireless router and the outside world However... it does seem far to keen to drop the link between pi and wireless router if there is no network activity. So I have a 30 second ping to 8.8.8.8 running constantly as a background ...

I'm sorry but I'm going to have to stick up fir Gert and the RPF here. Just get off their case and sto whinging about what they're doing. Go do your own thing but DON'T criticise them for the good work they're doing for not a lot if any reward as far as I can see.
