Thanks - zenity already installed in wheezy on rpi. It seems able to do lots of things - my message box is just one of n. Google didn't show it zenity --info --text="ok" --timeout=5 2> /dev/null outputs an ok message box for 5 secs. I had to include the 2?/dev/null to stop a zenity warning saying ' ...

The Pi went uSD when the B+ was launched, some while ago!

But why not? - there must be a lot of newish 4-8G or even bigger SDs out there. J

Are you sure the older cards are actually SD, and not microSD in an SD adapter?

Sorry if wrong forum, but isn't it time that there's a jessie download here. I've been using jessie for while & it is really stable, just as stable as wheezy imo. Also some faults in wheezy are fixed.
