Re: Mounting a Pi onto wood

Particle board is a horrible product. I would suggest you drill a 3.2mm hole through it, put a M3 bolt through with a washer on both sides, attach a plastic nut on the other end and tighten it, then put your pi on the remaining thread and secure with a further nut. Maybe squirt a bit of woodglue th...

Re: L9110S H-bridge start motor automatically on startup

Yes, you can set both pins hight. I have some problem with Raspebbry, as I said, because of some broken pins. I'm retrying code with other pins after "led test". With Arduino I had no problems. About the voltage,I read somewhere (can't refind) they tested it with 11,x V. I don't know how I fired th...

Re: Powering RPI4 via power pins, surge happened, trying to revive

If I try to power it via the pins, the LED lights up then turns off+ bad smell. - Is it fried and straight to trash or is there something I can do for it? - What components should I check/replace (is there a fuse, overvoltage protection etc?)? Any help is appreciated: Istvan What you have is a foot...

Re: RTC and relay board - can I add them both?

Yes, they will be fine to work together. Checking the pinout for each board we can see that the relay board sits across all the pins and passes them though, user selectable which GPIO enables the relays but defaults to Pins 37, 38 and 40. the RTC needs Pins 1,3,5,7 and 9 and will connect to the top ...

Re: QR code scanner, with auto focus - HW suggestion

So the target area is quite large compared to the QR code. Could the target area be reduced? (i.e. by visible guidelines of where QR code should be placed). Is the target area a flat surface that the QR code ticket is supposed to be placed flat upon? Is the issue to do with curling or other unevenne...

Re: Drawing Programs for Pi

As of last night she was very happy with MyPaint, I'm not going to disrupt her setup by switching to 64-bit or changing programs. If she expresses any frustration with it then we can re-explore options.

For now I'll leave her with something she is happy with.

Re: Dimming PDLC (50Vac) device

Reducing AC voltage isn't anywhere near as easy as dropping DC voltage, relays certainly won't help as the switching time is too slow. I haven't been able to find anything that suits your needs although I'm sure that there is something somewhere that will do the trick. Useful info: 3sq M panel needs...

Re: L9110S H-bridge start motor automatically on startup

Taking both pins high should just be a stop state, same as both pins low. What motor were you using? I suspect something in excess of 800mA sustained current. If the OP was using an L298N H-bridge then you would be right but according to the data sheet for the the L9110S the two control pins are cl...

OK. Since most of the YouTube videos on the Pi4 are out of date and or incorrect, where do you go to find current info and procedures (i.e., besides these Forums, of course).
I would recommend starting here.

Does Raspberry Pi 4 suitable for use to implement Smart projects as: Smart Cities (parking, trash, air quality, etc), smart home (home automation etc...), sma...

With a Gert VGA 666 you could run a VGA to VGA, if you can find a short enough VGA lead, but it would use all of the GPIO pins.

The PiHut sell a PUD Hat giving selectable PUD and external resistors to each GPIO pin.
They also have a PUD board if you just want 6 pins worth of PUD.

Try the latest Raspberry Pi OS (on a fresh uSD card if you have data you need to keep) as an older OS might run on a Pi3 but not on a Pi4.
