Re: Kodi 15/16 Packages for Raspbian

Check your Kodi log for more information about your problem. There is nothing in the log about this, just some recent activity as usual and I actually think it is just the interface what hangs as I plugged another USB keyboard and kodi logged it straight away ("NOTICE: Found a non joystick" message...

Re: Kodi 15/16 Packages for Raspbian

I have no problems with my NFS shares on RPi + Kodi, although I mount them in RPi instead of using Kodi's builtin NFS stack because it is less buggy and uses less cpu resources. Hm. My Kodi seems to crash more often when debian NFS stack is used rather than Kodi's one :-/ This is how I mount (fstab...

Re: Kodi 15/16 Packages for Raspbian

Noticed an issue with "16.1 Git:2016-04-25-b08ce71-dirty Media Center Kodi". I used to have a USB disk mounted at /mnt/olddisk/ and things were working fine. Then I got orangepi, connected the USB disk there, shared it over NFS and mounted it on raspberrypi at the very same location. And things wor...

Re: Kodi 15/16 Packages for Raspbian

Most (but not all) TV SD channels use MPEG2 codec and require the MPEG2 license to be played with omxplayer. SDL output of VLC is software only. If you compile VLC with HW acceleration (OpenMax only, MMAL doesn't work), you will also need the MPEG2 codec to use the HW acceleration for SD TV video. ...

Re: Kodi 15/16 Packages for Raspbian

no, all SD-TV channels can play under VLC sdl_vout. That doesn't confirm the video codec. VLC doesn't even use omxplayer, or any kind of hardware acceleration on the Pi. Anyway, if you are using a RPi 2 or 3, mmal is the recommended (default), since it has more features, using only slightly more re...

Re: Kodi 15/16 Packages for Raspbian

Hi Rascas, I'm using your version of Kodi 17. Unfortunately it is now crashing if I try to play a h265 file, I'm assuming other Pi updates since March have broken it, any chance you will be updating it? Many thanks. Kevin. That is strange. Earlier this week I was showcasing a RPi 3, recently update...

I bet that it is your user "aik" that hasn't the right permissions set. How are you running Kodi, from the desktop, terminal or auto-start at boot ? Are you running Raspbian Jessie ? You can turn the debug on in kodi and check the log file. I got distracted a bit :) The problem is still present on ...

Re: Kodi 15/16 Packages for Raspbian

Sorry for the late response, the version is kodi 16 and you guys were spot on as the problem was related to the stream being mpeg2. After purchasing the license, everything is running great. Turns out I could have just changed the encoding in my tuner to h264 but oh well the license is a cheap purc...

I already explained you. For more information read the Kodi wiki http://kodi.wiki/. For more questions about using Kodi it is better for you to ask in the Kodi oficial forums.

Just because I was building Kodi as well at the time, I checked out your configure options. I noticed on the Jessie config you have non-free enabled: --enable-non-free Not to be nitpicky, but why did you enable it? Kratos Like Gkreidl said, non-free in linux is generally related to something that d...
