Re: Inexpensive Case on Kickstarter

How did you arrive at a $15,000 budget - it seems way over the top and doomed to failure - you need to get as many pledges a day as you've got since you started. Can you resubmit with something more realistic?

Re: Hardware

I bought a VGA to HDMI adapter from Amazon for £14.03 and a Nokia power supply for £3.30 - both work fine. So the actual additional cost can be less than £20. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Neewer-Black-Adapter-Converter-Laptop/dp/B007KEIRNG http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nokia-N97-Mains-Charger-AC-10X/dp/B0021DX...

Just come back from the Alfa Romeo dealership - I'm very unhappy that they won't include Uma Thurman with my car even though they show her on the advert.

Re: MicroSD on future boards?

The vast majority of the web shops I see are selling SDHC cards offer many many standard sized ones and only a few micro cards - and yes, they knew that they would stick out of the side of the Pi. A respin of the board is very unlikely in the next year or so. Consider also that manual dexterity is n...

Re: Still not got it...

This is simply ridiculous. Being so late in delivery due to high product demand does not legitimate them to put our money in their pocket so early. They aren't late, they just aren't delivering as fast as YOU would like. By paying a relatively small amount up front will guarantee you a Pi - if RS &...

Re: RPi breaks SD-Cards

I'm sure that you can break lots of things by being a bit ham-fisted with your Pi.

Note that the OP has soldered a power lead on to his Pi too - his choice but speaks volumes to his views on other peoples engineering decisions. Perhaps an armour plated version would keep him happy.

The Versatile kernel has some sort of hard coded memory limit of 256Mb. I've tried giving it more in the past and it just crashes out.

Re: Got bare bones graphics working

on the sd rewrites, couldnt you change the / partition pointer to a usb drive? There is no / partition to point to - the kernel is not Linux but hand coded assembler. On the Pi, the kernel HAS to be on the SD card - once it's got started it can then look for the rest of the files where ever you tel...

The only code that would be clearly and quickly understandable without comments would be so simple as to be almost worthless. Having spent three hours last night running use cases for a JavaScript compiler against someone's undocumented regexes I heartily support the above. If you ain't got a comme...

Got to imagine that somewhere, this doesn't agree entirely with distance sellnig regulations. Distance selling regs only cut in once you have received the goods.
