Re: 8188EU driver spamming logs

Can you post the output of command uname -a?

EDIT:- I think if you edit file /etc/modprobe.8188eu.conf and add rtw_drv_log_level=0 to the list of options and then reboot your Pi it will stop logging those lines you see.

Re: Moving Linux Kernel to 5.4

MrEngman. Have you started building your WiFi modules for 5.4? Running command 'sudo rpi-update' will load: kernel revision = 5.4.35+ kernel build = #1314 Checking for a 8188eu wifi driver module if you run command 'sudo rpi-update'. A driver does not yet exist for this update. Or have you pursuade...

Re: Moving Linux Kernel to 5.4

Is the rpi-update script freakishly slow for anyone else? Like, 15-50KB/s download speed when it's getting the firmware from github. It's not my ISP (Virgin, 45Mbps on speedtest.net at the moment) or GitHub or the Pi (I can manually download a largeish file such as kernel7l.img from the same repo, ...

Yes, I have my AWUS036ACH. I have a new SD card with kernel 4.19.118+ #1311 and have a Pi 0 W running with it. No sign of any issue at the moment. I created the SD card using image 2020-02-13-raspbian-buster-lite then updated it using apt update/upgrade and then rpi-update. I am currently connected...

Don't know if this will help but I've compiled a slightly newer version of the driver for kernel 4.19.115+ #1305. Working on my Pi 0 W like the previous version. No idea if it will fix your problem. Re: WiFi dongle on old Rasp Pi (MrEngman script help!)

Hi teapea, Don't think you need to worry about the kernel errors. I believe the reason is because there is a mt7612 wifi driver included in the 4.19 kernel but the firmware it needs is not included so if you boot the Pi with the built in mt7612 wifi driver enabled that driver loads but fails to run ...
