Re: Still camera and OpenMAX-IL

Why wouldn't you use mmal? For various reasons: - MMAL is not documented. If I have zero knowledge about camera drivers development, it's completely impossible to understand how MMAL works. On the other hand, OpenMAX IL has a spec document of 400 pages. With this and the OMX (and Broadcom) header f...

Re: Still camera and OpenMAX-IL

The problem with OpenMAX is that it is a b*****d to debug unless you really know what you are doing. That's why I used the mmal API in the camera apps. Much easier to get on with. I get exactly the same error: OMX_ErrorInsufficientResources. If I tunnel the image_encode to the null_sink component t...

DEBUG function: OMX_PARAM_PORTDEFINITIONTYPE

Re: Custom login message (MOTD)

I've got a 2TB drive mounted as the last item in my /etc/fstab, I get the details of that filesystem not the rootfs on the RPi. SD Card.......: Total: 1.9TB, Used: 528GB, Free: 1.4TB df -h . gives pi@pi ~ $ df -h . Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on 10.1.1.230:/i-data/b43a16cf/nfs/home 1.9T...

Custom login message (MOTD)

I've created a custom motd message in pure bash:

Based on some examples found here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=23440, but in Bash.

Tested with Arch linux.
