I have AverMedia tuner AVerTV Hybrid Volar HX and I'm wondering if there is any possibility to run it on RPi? I would like to connect to it external video source via Composite input.

Please be aware that I'm newbee in Linux.

Update and Upgrade was the first thing i did. Tbh my raspbian was a bit old and i had to change the repository by hand then i've did apt-get update and then apt-get upgrade. Worked like a charm except it took nearly a hour to finish the upgrade 8-) But the raspbian should be up to date now. Even if ...

The kernal version has no connection with the packages available in the repository.
Just a quick suck it and see, but have you tried apt-get update and upgrade?
