Re: how delete unwanted folder

From a Terminal, cd /home then rmdir unwantedfoldername
No need for sudo as you created it.

For 1) have a look at guizero
For 2) look at this excellent guide https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/vie ... 1&t=314455

Re: Newbie With Things To Do

Get a Pi4 from the “Buy now” button on this page https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/r ... 4-model-b/ for your country. And buy an official power supply. No need for any fans.
Also start with RaspiOS on it - forget Windows for now.

Put some good security measures on your pi (ufw, denyhosts, fail2ban etc.) This is a good start https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... ecurity.md

Re: CSV timestamp data storage

Use something like this

Code: Select all

file_name = “CSV_log_”
filename = file_name + str(datetime.now().strftime('%Y_%m_%d_%H%M%S')) + '.csv'

Re: Infrared transmitter and reciver

It might be that the newer kernels (Buster) support use some new kernel drivers, ir-keytable & ir-ctl, rather than lirc

Re: Recording RPM via Hall Sensor and data not saving?

run it from a terminal using python3 not python e.g.

Code: Select all

python3 tachometer.py
folder already exists
RPM = 0, MPH = 0.0
...
( and it creates csv files in RPM_logs )

Just look at this image (157KB)- no external sites needed so that’s why I like it more. https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/vie ... 5#p1889405

Take the pi out, as it is just “connected as a video card”. (I would like to see a photo of that).

And the default directory when cgi is enabled is "/usr/lib/cgi-bin/", so using the tutorial /var/www/cgi-bin won't work unless you change something (tutorial does not). Tutorial is from 2016...

There are no .sgi files, should be .cgi

It will probably work but only if you do not take more current (Amps) than the pi can safely output.

Re: On-board Temperature results accuracy.

I am using graphs1090 on my pi2 running flightaware (skyaware) and it shows max 47 C over the last 2 weeks (UK) and average of 41 C. It also plots CPU, I/O, disk, memory, bandwidth, messages, aircraft etc. Very good. I don’t worry about the temperature accuracy, it’s good enough for me.
