Re: Linux kernel is now 4.4

Can we have a 4.4 kernel update via rpi-update with the patch mentioned here please: https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/600 http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-arm-kernel/2015-March/332633.html Edit: Further reading about this Bug is in this thread: https://github.com/raspberrypi/lin...

Re: neon discussion, FAO shiftplusone

The Bench has eventually completed, there's an up to 7% increase in performance in using the Neon detecting fftw 3.3.4 (and fast mathes), depending on the telescope Angle Range, the r3236 app didn't use fast mathes (I compiled it myself), the Stock 8.02 did i understand (compiled by someone else), a...

Re: neon discussion, FAO shiftplusone

So I cooked up a small test program, basically do a 1048576 point FFT 128 times so I can time the result. Since fftw3 uses in-program detection rather than ld hwcaps I needed to test on both the pi1 and the pi2, what shcoked me was that even without neon enabled and even given that this was a singl...

Re: jessie added to main raspbian archive

Is this still a valid way of upgrading? I have a spare microSD card for my RPi2 loaded with latest wheezy updates and want to have a look at jessie. OK I realise there may be bugs :-) Richard So how can it be used? I bet apt-get update will not find it? Edit your /etc/apt/sources.list Change all li...

Re: Any chance of update for BOINC.

It's in the works. Since this update involves Debian maintainers, Raspbian maintainers, and perhaps even dependencies like WxWidgets, be patient. Stanford has written the code, it's just a matter of it percolating down to Pi-dom :) If the Raspbian maintainers expect the base Boinc package to be upd...

Re: [email protected]

EDIT: forgot to mention: when using a self compiled BOINC version, you'll need to eddit the cc_config.xml file of BOINC to get work from [email protected]: <cc_config> <log_flags> </log_flags> <options> <alt_platform>arm-unknown-linux-gnueabihf</alt_platform> </options> </cc_config> Or add this entry to configur...

Re: Linux kernel is now 3.18

The setiathome kernel problem introduced with kernel 3.12.x is still occuring on 3.18.5+, this is still my self compiled app from the Seti_boinc source @r1924, presently running the repository Boinc 7.0.27 on Raspbian Wheezy on a Model B Pi: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid...

Re: Linux kernel is now 3.12

One thing to note about Boinc and the 3.12.x kernel, If you compile Boinc from the Berkeley source and run it from your Home/BOINC directory, then it works perfectly with 3.12.x kernels: I do compile from Berkeley source code (although I run it in a dedicated /extra/BOINC location). I'm rather temp...

Re: Linux kernel is now 3.12

An update of the system has updated raspberrypi-bootloader (as well as libraspberrypi-bin, libraspberrypi-dev, libraspberrypi-doc and libraspberrypi0) from version 1.20140618-1 to 1.20140908-1 whch puts me onto a 3.12.28+ kernel. This continues ot show the "BUG: unsupported FP instruction in kernel...

Re: Linux kernel is now 3.12

I have an Issue with Kernel 3.12.18+ (and .17+) on Raspbian Jessie/Sid and the repository Setiathome_v7 app, a variable time after starting my Pi it locks up, either at the desktop or command line, I can get updates done on it, sometimes it takes a few attempts to get it completed, If I manage to ge...

Re: libc6

Does anyone know if there are plans to upgrade libc6 on Raspbian? Raspbian wheezy will almost certainly stay on 2.13 for the life of the release for the life of the release. Raspbian jessie currently has 2.18 The current package is 2.13-38 and causing dependency problems. Out of interest what softw...
