Re: GPIO constantly firing 0s

Perhaps the library has a timeout in case it does not see a '1'? That's where I'm a bit lost. When holding, only a single 1 is fired, and then returns to spamming 0s. Oh it does! But then it'll just be the fact that 0's fire every second otherwise. I was under the impression the 0 would only fire a...

Re: GPIO constantly firing 0s

I think your library returns the value every 3ms, regardless of the button being pressed or not. If I am correct, if you hold the button down, you will get a 1 every 3ms. The thread title made me think you were experiencing a switch bounce problem. google "switch de-bouncing" The 0's are constant t...

The 0's are constant though, even when booted before a button is pressed. Does this still apply?

GPIO constantly firing 0s

I had recently posted ( https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=116149 ) that I had been working on a little project using the adafruit arcade buttons ( https://www.adafruit.com/products/473 ). So far I've gotten my RPI wired up with a single button, and am using the node onoff modul...

Re: Purchasing Correct Pieces for Button Circuit

Yes. However if you look around a bit more you can find a pack of different values. Search "resistor pack" on ebay. For example: 640 Pcs 64 Values 1R - 10MR 1/4w 1% Metal Film Resistor Kit Assortment/Pack/Mix is currently £3.01 delivered in UK. Will stand you in good stead if you proceed to more ex...

Purchasing Correct Pieces for Button Circuit

I'm currently building a project that uses 4 adafruit arcade buttons ( https://www.adafruit.com/products/473 ). After picking up some wires, the buttons, and a Raspberry Pi 2, I realized I'll also need a breadboard and resistors to complete the circuit. Before I go spending money, I just wanted to c...

GPIOs firing every ~3 milliseconds

I'm currently building a project using adafruits arcade buttons ( https://www.adafruit.com/products/473 ), and seem to be having a bit of an electrical problem. Using a Raspberry Pi 2 , and after confirming that wires aren't touching in places they're not supposed to be, I attached the wires from a ...

Attach Big Red Button to GPIO

I recently picked up four of these from Adafruit; https://www.adafruit.com/products/473 At the moment I'd like to connect just one directly to the GPIO on my RPi B (no breadboard). How would I go about doing this correctly? I have the button wired up and am trying to access using Node and https://gi...

RFID Reader Suggestions - Large Size

Hi there! I was hoping to get a bit of advice. I'm currently thinking about working on a project with RFID systems to track for example family members from walking in and out of the Front door (thinking two sets of sensors). Essentially, if they have a tag or card in their coat, I'd like these scann...
